Wanna trade? It's 19C right now, at about 10 minutes to midnight. It's supposed to be 30C tomorrow, and there's a heat warning. The next few days are expected to be bad. I'm going to have to run the fan this weekend - both of them - and hope my electricity bill doesn't skyrocket. I can't open the windows due to the smoky air.

A front expected to move up the South Island on Sunday should take the edge off the cold temperatures.

I was traveling out west in the past couple weeks, and it was stunningly green and the mountains were surprisingly snow-covered. I saw a severe thunderstorm in Nevada and some small-scale flooding.
The Rio Grande is full and the rafters love it.

The Snake River was full, and my friend told me that when it is that high people often die because of how strong the flow over the rapids is.
The same happens here.

So we have had a warm summer and mild winters lately.
First day of winter was 20 degrees. Then someone flicked a switch and we've had a week of frosts.
-10 inland below 0 in the city and -5 to -7 at the airport around dawn.
Not to bad atm.

No idea I'm 1000km+ ro the South. 10-15 degrees something like that.
Only been to Auckland twice iirc. 1400km drive not as the crow flies.
