Snowing yay.

Yesterday, we had our first measurable rain since May: 1.8" at our house. Pretty wonderful.

More or less stuck in house. Didn't snow that much and ots frozen over so black ice all over the place on hill suburbs.

Man, weather this summer has been great up here. That's probably very worrisome but hey.

20 degrees Civilized, light breeze, clear skies...wonderful weather for a hike. Except for the fact that it's midnight.

We'd had a run of nice days - warm, with a nice breeze. The management here scheduled an outdoor food truck event for Friday, so I sent in my RSVP for a free voucher... and then it rained. And rained. And rained. On Friday I found everyone with umbrellas and jackets and raincoats, standing under the trees, waiting for their food orders. It was a case of pick it up, and get back inside ASAP because it was WET out there.

I did get my free waffle and a few pieces of chicken (they'd sold out of the chicken sandwiches and fries by that point). I decided to supplement it with fried rice and plum sauce - just mix the rice, chicken, and waffles all together, and add sauce.

Waffles and plum sauce are a surprisingly good mix.

It's quite chilly now; someone said snow was forecast for the mountains. Haven't checked to see if it actually happened. If it's going to snow anywhere, BC and NWT need it more than we do.

I hate headwinds. Chch would be a good city for bikes if it weren't for headwinds that stop you dead in your tracks. It didn't matter which direction I turned, a headwind was there to stop me however it could.

Bealey Ave lacks bike lanes going west, too. So that was also fun...

Good luck southern California.

Been about 80 years.
Tropical storm Hilary is here!

I thought hurricanes were an east coast thing exclusively.

We've had thunderstorms last night and today.

Today's was VERY LOUD.

Nice rainbow, though.
My cat gets very skiddish whenever high winds and thunderstorms come around. I sometimes see him, just when the weather gets crappy, sneak into my room when I’m not looking playing my games on my computer, that he chills under my blankets.

I usually end up cuddling Maddy for a few minutes. It's important to stay calm so they realize that if you're not worried, there's less reason for them to worry.

Some rain after long drought. Can smell the wet soil.
