After two weeks of multiple rainstorms and thunderstorms, it's now 92 degrees, expected to hit 107 today. Same forecast for Tuesday through next Sunday. And it's worse across the Red River down in Texas.

It's 101 now in the shade here. Not a cloud in the sky and very little wind, which is unusual for South Oklahoma.
There's a thunderstorm trying to happen. Low-level muttering, grey clouds, hopefully some rain.

Today had me wishing I could join the penguins incubating their chicks in Antarctica. The home care person who was over thought I was joking and asked why. I told her I'd be in a nice civilized -50C or thereabouts, and not melting like it is here today.
(okay, that's a slight exaggeration; I don't enjoy being outside in anything colder than -30C, but the point is that it's TOO DAMN HOT right now)

The radio station I'm listening to just listed the high-heat warnings in effect today, and it sounds like it's most of the country.
It's nice and cool tonight (nearly 10:30 pm now).
The tradeoff is we're having a rather loud thunderstorm. One of the neighbors must be sitting out on his balcony, as I keep hearing him talking to someone about it (he likes to have loud conversations on his phone, unaware that I can hear every word he says when the window's open).
Maddy's decided to relax on my DVD player next to the computer. She's been sick lately, so I'm not going to argue with her for wanting to be as close as possible without actually being on the computer itself. The really loud thunders scare her.
