Just got a iMac last month - curse Bill Gates to the depths of Hades.

I had been playing CivIII on the PC, so of course it was the first software I bought for the Mac. Of course, for whatever reason, the program didn't come with a printed manual - and the ingame civilopedia is NO help on this question.

So - how do I use spies?

Never mind. I accidentally tripped over the solution. Double click on the Intelligence Agency "icon".

I hate when the software doesn't come with a printed manual! AARRGGGHHH.

Walter,

Welcome to the Mac world.

How odd, my copy came with a manual. Granted, there was a lot of stuff not IN the manual, but still.

Also, to use your spies, you can click on the "E" which appears in the bottom right status box once you've built the Intelligence Agency.

Happy Civing,
sirromdivad

Other hints if you don't have the manual: try the F1-F12 keys. F1-F6 are the advisors, F7-12 (or is it F11?) are other info screens that I don't think you can reach any other way.

F7 = Wonders screen
F11 (?) = Top 5 Cities & National Stats
F12 (?) = Spaceship

that sort of thing

Uh, your 'purchased' game will have a receipt somewhere. That will ensure that you get a proper manual. Then, you could always 'buy' a Prima Strategy Guide.

Mate, always buy the software, if really makes the designers happy. Then they make new stuff.

My apologies to MacSoft and Firaxis. A manual DID come with the game - my brother "borrowed" it to replace his lost manual. Since he took it out of my box before I got to it, I never saw the manual. He just "returned" it.

Little good it did him, though. He still has a PC.

Thanks to everybody, except Sid, for their help.

And Sid, you can take your implication and ... no, I'm gonna restrain myself. THIS time. Where you get off saying that sort of thing to someone you don't know is beyond me.

Walter, perhaps next time you'll supply more information -- and I still recommend the Prima guide.

BTW, anyone who starts a post with a spurious attack on Bill Gates doesn't immediately gain my trust, or access that part of me that finds humour in most things.
