Second, I'm regularly involved in 5-8 SG's at any one time, so I would say that very few of my posts could legitimately be considered spamming.

Now, if you want to talk about the particular relevance of my posts to the thread they're in (like this one), you might have an argument.

Maybe it didn't work because the server takes a little while to update the avatar rights or something since otherwise the forum software would have to check whether every post was a 300th post...

Neither of those is quite what I'm looking for, so could you try these:

the first images are simply "cropped" and resized. The second set has a small black border around them. Making them transparent does not look very good at all

First of all, great work in this thread - I saw Mistfit (in my SGoTM team) got his avatar here, and GK too and was hoping I could get one also, since I'm fast approaching the magic 300...

My question is, how specific do I have to be?

A vague outline would be wanting something to do with ancient warfare (Roman is good) and a white rose... Since I have little artistic flair, I would leave the interpretation up to the artist.

Unti I find something I like, I might use the GB Olympics logo which Mistfit (thanks, mate!) pointed out to me - normally those things are terrible, but this is very cool indeed...

Not sure how we could incorperate a rose in these (and I'll keep working on other ones, working on a "standard" now, but probably won't get it done until tomorrow, its friday night afterall ) but thought I would get up what I have so far...

As usual the first set is just "resized" no border...the second set has a small black border...

Okay, the "standard" wasn't working the way I had hoped...but I did come up with these. Keep in mind that background colors can be replaced, and wording can be added (though wording is sometimes difficult because of the size)...
