Old Elementry School Macintosh's

Okay, so we used old Macintosh's in elemnetry school. And now they are consolidating the schools, and upgrading the computers. So, I wrote a letter to the school board asking if I could buy one, and have the disks included. Or even copies of the disks, I'll provide the CD-R's. My mother agreed, we'd be willing to pay up to 100 bucks for it, although not all at once. But they might give it to us cheap, or even free, I know one person who got an old Mac from their school free.

We're taking the letter to the school board tomorrow, as it's not that far away and is cheaper than mailing it.

None, I just use open-source/free ware programs to emulate an older Mac on my Windows computer (Mini vMmac for the older black and white Macs and Basilisk II for Mac OS 7-8)

Well at first I thought what good are those CD's going to do you when the old school apples only have floppies, and then I realized you probably had better computers because you're younger and went to a richer school than I

I might take one for free to reminisce, but I wouldn't actually pay for an old apple. Emulating the OS on your current computer would probably be better in terms of power consumption.

They're probably just going to throw them out - tell them you'll come pick one up - and you can probably have it for free.

Old computer aren't useful past a certain point for non-specialized applications, it's easier and cheaper, in terms of time spent, electricity bills, etc. to use new computers.

Let me explain, I like the programs on this old computer, and computer itself. And I can't remember the names of programs, so I can't go find them online as abandonware.

No, you have to have to use an emulator like Basilisk II (Pre-PowerMac) and SheepShaver (PowerMac old world), Even then you still need a rom file to have them work. Yet Apple still owns the rights to these old roms.
