Older Computer Games

I still enjoy Jazz Jackrabbit, Zeus and Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. And yes, I still think that Jazz is one of the best games ever.

I never played the original Jazz Jackrabbit, but I have number 2 somewhere. That was a really enjoyable game. I'd probably still enjoy it if I could find the install cd.

Commander Keen was awesome. I still play global conquest, covert action, the original pirates, tank wars and scorched earth. Used to play Tank wars almost constantly.

Nuke the hole!!!

The original Duke Nukem!!! Runs reasonably well under Dos Box.

3 OLD games I really like & play on a Commador 64 emulator are:

1. Mule
2. Loadrunner
3. Jumpman

I don't use my computer much for actual gaming. As for the "old" ones, I play Age of Empires, StarCraft, and Age of Empires II.

I was going to get Baldur's Gate II for Christmas, but knowing how little I actually game on my computer, I think I'll just go for Metroid Prime 2 (and a bunch of old GBA games).

@Death Machine: I've heard good stuff about M.U.L.E. Could you lend more info about the game.?

@King of Town: And the guys who made that game then made names for themselves with DOOM. But Commander Keen still has to be remembered, of course. Though nothing will compare to the sheer immersion of DOOM, and it also carried an entire genre on its back, just like Civilization and Super Mario Bros.

Speaking of 2D games, anybody still play the Prince of Persia series?

MULE was cloned as a PC game a few years ago.

It's basically an economic game with an auction portion with a little real-time arcade feel.

Let see, our first computer had Windows 3.1. I know cool...lol. Anyway, We played:

Secret Agent Man
Duke Nukem (1st one)
All of the Commander Keens!

There were a lot more too...the thing is, we still have that computer! you can download most of the DOS games for free now I think that work for XP and Vista....not to sure on that though...

@ Death- You got to get mission imposible. I used to play the crap out out of that game. Stay a while...STAY FOREVER! I never beat it once. I sucked at it. The jumping is so hard.

Swein I liked Wolfenstein A LOT more than doom.

My families first real computer after commodores and such you either worked out of dosshel or the command prompt...

Probably most people liked DOOM more because of online multiplayer.

As far as people say, Wolfenstein 3D beats the CRAP out of its descendants (the other Wolfenstein games).

Wolfenstein 3d was a horrible POS, even when it came out, but it essentially introduced FPSs to the world, paving the way for DOOM and duke nukem and freerunner and Quake and all the games of that ilk that would be massive sellers in the next few years.

Old games I wish I could still play but have Vista so I cant are Wasteland and Wasteland. The fallout games were "spiritual successors" but I hadnt even heard of them until a few years ago and now cant find and quite frankly have no interest. Fallout 3 however is made by Bethesda and Im anticipating that one like a giddy school child. But I honestly still easily put wasteland up there in my top five easy, twas pure gaming bliss.

:p

I remember playing that on the School's Computers in Middle School on a Mac OS 7 computer :p.

The incredible machine was fun, they did a remake in 2000 or something like that but I didn't play it.

X-Wing vs TIE Fighter
King's Quest VI

Good times, good times.

Damnit, I got Oregon Trail Deluze from The Home of the Underdogs, and it worked, but when I try now it won't work. Redownlaoded it and still getting the same nonsensical error >_<

There is a web version of the original somewhere.

My friend had it on a generic floppy that could play on both an Apple ][e and IBM. I guess that floppy was ahead of its' time. :)
