Olso, Norway, hit by explosions

I dunno, killing "innocent people" seems to be the wrong course of action regardless of the context and circumstances.

Sorry Contre.

So yeah. It's not an act by Islamist extremists.

He doesn't seem to show any of the signs of being capable of committing politically-motivated mass murder like this. With Jared Laughner, the guy that killed those people in Arizona, there was a history of unstable behavior, so much so to the point that people were concerned for their safety even before the shooting.

I'm going by what little information is currently out there. More will undoubtedly be released.

Pretty much.

It's pretty much an Irate, Right-winger, angry at the Norweigen government.

You forgot atheist. I mean McVeigh was an admitted atheist by the time he did the Oklahoma bombing.

I posted the facebook link earlier. Go look.

Looking forwards to your retraction.

Quick! Let's label the nut case murderer as whatever we're not!

He played WoW that explains everything, I wonder if the media will blame stuff yet again on video games.

Regarding the pin-it-on-a-faith-debate, here is my somewhat unserious take. It is meant to get people to think about whether a blame game should be played and whether you really need 3,000 posts to justify violating freedom of religion and contract. [not to be taken all that seriously]It's just amazing how influential the Muslim terrorists have become. They now are apparently recruiting Christians into the nefarity. How many years must we wait before constructing a Christian church within the vicinity of the attack? If he really is claiming to be Christian, I'm sure we can safely assume that he is not really Christian, but mentally ill. I'm not sure if that say much though other than Islam attracts terrorists and Christianity attracts the mentally ill. I do not really believe that, it is just interesting that it gets unintentially framed that way by those that think one religion is violent and the other is pure enough that when something bad happens, we have to call in the Freuds.[/not to be taken all that seriously]

In Norwegian medias, he is described as a right wing nationalist, very critical of islam and the multicultural lifestyle.
No criminal record to speak of and registered gun owner.

He had a previous facebook profile that was closed. When active, he used it (and other forums) to express his political views.

He expresses admiration for such figures as Winston Churchill and Max Manus. Manus was a Norwegian WW2 freedom fighter and war hero.

I'll stop here for now. The days to come will give us more info.

So sad that children are among his victims.

There's a difference between the illogical and the insane.

That's irrelevant. My point is that you must be at least partially insane in order to kill dozens of people. And no, before you go there, I am not the text book American who divides the world up between "good guys" "bad guys". ;)
