My philosophy, based on societal trends in profanity, is that the language filter is still kind of a nice thing to grandfather into our time and place, but we should eventually let it die, and not add to it.
See, the problem is that social trends are making perceived slurs less acceptable while making profanity more acceptable. So things like [unintelligent] are becoming less and less acceptable while things like [feces] and [intercourse] are not considered as offensive as they used to be.
Not that we'll be taking words out of the autocensor any time soon, unless they have innocuous meanings. There's a huge amount of institutional inertia here on basically all rules, as you've probably noticed. So we're not going to be allowing profanity in the foreseeable future. If anything the trend will be to add slurs to the autocensor and not subtract profanity - the opposite of what you want.
It's worth saying that the autocensor is actually a good thing in some ways. Specifically, it prevents us from having to infract people who try to post swear words. If we got rid of the autocensor but still had rules against inappropriate language, it would mean more work for us and more language infractions for regular users.

Language changes, though, and there are undoubtedly words and phrases that are perfectly innocuous now that will not be considered so in another decade or two (gotta wonder how many of us will still be here in 20 years' time... ).
Speaking as a Quebecer, I consider language filter a restriction on the expression of my cultural identity and pride /straight face.
I mean, not that it keeps me from using the really harsh swears, but it keeps me from using all the swearwords we borrow from english to have milder alternative to our own swears

That'S what I'm saying. I can use all the real heavy mean ones, but I can't use any of our mild swearwords, because our mild swearwords are things like the F- and S- words
