Summary:
Marseilles popped a Great Engineer against the odds. Lyons going for a Great Scientist. Paris going for Great Prophet. If they fail, Marseilles' next
is not far behind. Nobody's made a move towards Communism yet, so that Great Spy is still up for grabs.
We're at war with Mehmed - Hatshepsut - Genghis Kahn, and razed Bursa. We're about to take Ankara, but (much like Pre Rup) wasn't sure on razing versus keeping this city. In the meantime, trying to get our Macemen up to City Raider III.
Rifling is in, and two turns from Steam Power. I've been bouncing between 30% and 50% science due to cash-hungry troop upgrades.
Done nothing with our naval stack, other than adding a couple of Galleons to it.
The Privateer has been reaping 9
/turn off Egypt unchallenged.
Mansa Musa's down to just his crummy capital, while Wang Kon has just declared on Isabella. Churchill got Versailles (Brighton), and unsurprisingly we got The Statue of Liberty.
_____________
Opening Turn | Turn 330 | 1550AD
Paris runs a Priest, Marseilles loses its Scientists for other specialists, and Lyons runs some more specialists to get its
/turn up.
Our Medic I Chariot goes to Rouen to appease the citizenry.
Most of our Siege units get upgraded to Cannons. Under-promoted Macemen get City Raider promotions.
Kumbi Saleh swaps to a Galleon.
Djenne gets a reorganisation so it completes the Courthouse in 3 turns so it may then get moving on Wall Street.

Vandal: Galleon > Maceman
Yasodharapura: Drydock > Christian Monastery

Turn 2 | Turn 332 | 1560AD
Churchill captures Awdaghost (Mansa’s capital, leaving a single city), while also completing Versailles in Brighton.
Statue of Liberty! Run through the entire empire deselecting Spy specialists.
Paris: Statue of Liberty > Christian Cathedral (for the Priest slots!)
Orleans: Cannon > Maceman
Rheims: Ironworks > Grocer
Vandal: Maceman > Maceman
Kumbi Saleh: Galleon > Harbor
Turn 3 | Turn 333 | 1565AD

Rheims: Grocer > Rifleman

Well, Mehmed old buddy, all good things must end …

Science back up to 30%
Turn 7 | Turn 337 | 1585AD
Paris: Christian Cathedral > Rifleman
Vandal: Cannon > Rifleman
Dijon: Barracks > Christian Monastery
Maceman at 99% wins.
Bursa is razed.
Spy settles in Ankara.
Turn 8 | Turn 338 | 1590AD
Mehmed sends a Galleon towards Djenne. I opt to upgrade a Crossbow and Musketeer to Riflemen, and fortify the city.
Orleans: Cannon > Settler
Vandal: Rifleman > Rifleman
Grenoble: Salon > Christian Temple
Kumbi Saleh: Galleon > Frigate
Angkor Thom: Barracks > Rifleman
The Galleon built in Kumbi Saleh is upgraded and at 68% defeats Mehmed’s invading Galleon, so in hindsight those upgrades were a bit wasteful.

Cannon at 83% withdraws, nine Cannons at 98%+ withdraw, seven Macemen at 99%+ win, two Riflemen at 97% and 99% respectively take out two Ottoman units in the field. Ankara is ready to be captured ... keep or raze?
Science down to 40%
In hindsight ...
After all of Grandad's effort, I kept the navy back, but we can take our pickings once we get more ground troops together to put onto the boats if we do want an offshore invasion.
Possibly I could have built more Christian buildings before others, but I was mindful that at any point we'd complete Scientific Method and waste partially-built Monasteries.
Gao's Spy and Marseilles' Salon were two that I was unsure of. The Salon will open up another Scientist slot as well as adding an Artist, which could be a good or bad thing in our main
Farm.
The Ottoman Galleon incident - I should have attacked first, and then upgraded those troops if required.
I've been producing a few Riflemen out of Vandal and Rheims, but Macemen are still available if we want to give them City Raider II and Cover promotions out of these cities, rather than Combat II Riflemen. It's costly though.
Christian Missionary in Angkor Thom has just hit town.
