Why do you think I'm working on SSS, even if it goes slowly as we are only two programmers with limited free time?

Even if the best option is to release the entire source code for free, something's going to have to be done about legal stuff like copy protection and such. The best thing really might be just to start from scratch with a DirectX project, and maybe release just the important C++ files (of course, Visual C++ 6.0 and DirectX would be required).
That alone should make it worth their while adding such a featureMirc said:If they would allow animated terrain and cities, I swear I would change my signature to "CIV3 ROCKS!" and I will post a "CIV3 ROCKS!" message on every forum I'm registered to!
I_batman said:I think everyone should read the comment that came from a 2K rep in the news update section that clearly states releasing Civ III code is legally not feasible for the near future.
Not difficult, but totally not feasible.
Other options will have to explored.

jatibi said:yes. the wish-lists of bjornlo, civinator and steph cover all what is needed.
personally i am frustrated that the different civs don't accumulate their features.
* in civ 1 a civ could split after civil war.
* in civ 2 you could donate all sorts of military equipment.
* in civ 3 those features don't exist.
