Online petition for an updated Civ III editor

By the way who the hell has a computer to run 256 civs.

I guess the same person who can think up 256 civs to put in the game!

The limit was set to be unreachable :)

If you have more than 32 strategic/luxury resources (sometimes less if their position is "wrong" in the editor), then you get any other strategic/luxury resource in a city that is connected to a resource but not your capital, that has the value r+32 or r-32, and this carries on until there are no more resources in said positions.

Though I would really like the ability to add in more Tech eras and the max limit of techs upped and the max amount of units upped because then you _could_ do a real world kind of game....like have civ specific units for every country...

Having civ specific units for every country so unit rosters represent history correctly, that was all done in 2005 with Balancer Reloaded.

It had over 900 units with full pedia discipt detailing how each unit was used, how many were built, who they bought off etc)

Stephs mod is going bigger for a better real life model, but tryin to beat a mod the size and quality of the Balancer Reloaded takes a hella lot of time

I know I completely did my own mod from the WWI era all the way to modern times. Custom tech tree positioning, pediaicons...needless to say I completed it and completely forgot about it when I reformatted a couple months ago and it went bye bye.... oh well

Ouch man! You shoulda loaded er up! I would have kept it in good care for you by resting it on my prized mod mantel.

back to topic: Making it so custum improvments + Wonders showed up in the city veiw screen was my main moddin dream. Dam that would be sweet if made possable!

i second this motion...

some ideas

-ABILITY TO KILL UNITS IN YOUR TERRITORY FOR TOO LONG WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE A RoP w/o DECLARING WAR!@!@!@!-sorry to yell that, that is just my #1 choice
-Incan settlers settle on mountains
-Hills and Mountains irrigatable at terrace farming
-Prussia, Mali, Polynesia, and Hebrews as a civ!---click Civ!
-New traits (i.e.-ermmm... i have no clue, but more!)
-Mobile planes that can take cities!!!
-Trade territory map at Map Making
-switch cost and culture points of Libraries and Temples
-New mobilization type: Renaissance-only allows the building of culture
-MORE ADD BUTTONS on the editor, like for everything!
-New Culture groups: African, Central American, New World, Pacific...etc...
-Multi chat function: ability to hold press confrence with several nations
-New Ability: to sell units
-King unit attack
-wider variety of natural disasters... maybe hurricane, tornado (in sinc-*spelling* with global warming)
-No limit to how many civs can be added
-Offshore drilling for oil! oil can be found in the ocean/sea, and you need offshore platform to get it (offshore platform is like a colony, but for water, and you need to get a special worker boat to build it, and you can station land units on their)
-buildable bridges over Lakes (meaning less than 22 tiles, or whatever a salt water body needs)
-enslave option to whatever the defeated unit was, not to a specific unit (i never liked a galley becoming a privateer.... just don't)
-load error no longer exits the Civ III window, just exit current game
-Vingrjoe's "Limited Blitz" idea
-R8XFT's "building affect" idea, of stable, range

This is probably my favorite option "Set as default rules for all games" option on the editor---that way you can just mod a game, and then set it as default, so they all start that way!---this would also mean that a mod would have to come out with the original default, and you can download it off of the civ site if you lose it.

most of these are generally edited parts of the game, probably just be another patch

there are probably a few more, but i can't think of anything right now, sorry if i repeated any

I guess the same person who can think up 256 civs to put in the game!

that is probably the rough estimate of how many countries there are in the world right now, if it isn't exact... or so i would think

a good part of your suggestion have nothing to do in a petition for an updated CivIII editor, as they can already be done with the current editor.

These ones are new, the others are already in:

Hey, I'm trying to input a hurricane unit into the game. So far, it works, but it would look better if it wasn't a Tank in it's place!

But still, I think it would be better if it was a disaster...
(#HURRICANECITY
#domestic advisor sad
$CITY0 has been flooded, $RULERTITLE1! Our alcamists blame hurricane Katrina...)

No offence intended to anyone, of course.

All I want is to get rid of corruption.

My two cents' worth. I would like to see many of the improvements mentioned above. I bought Civ 4 and Warlords, but don't play them anymore because I really prefer Civ3 Conquests.

Haven't had time to read all this, yet. So, not sure if this has been mentioned. Please allow more than 8 players to be in a multiplayer game. (At least 12 but preferably 20+.)

Or please allow access to the source code. (I know that one has been covered but worth mentioning again considering the unlikelyhood that Civ 3 will still be supported.) :please:

Is this thread still alive?
Get over it people.
Firaxis has no plans to release the code, and has no compelling reason to in the future.

I, among others, have contacted Firaxis directly asking about getting the source code.
The answer is no.
