That's the only flourishing 1900's NES at the moment, although I'm sure Icmancin would beg to differ.

Oh, simple NESes do exist. Try jalepeno_dude's NES. It's quite good, updates often, and the rules are pretty simple.

Tartessos and Noricum both have some promise, or you could take Byzantium or one of the smaller Japanese states.

Or if you want someone already established, you could take Egypt, Magan, Dilmun, or the Hedjaz.
