Operation Market Garden

Liberated Tours and St Nazaire.
Slightly annoyed to see Goering's army, around 8 artillery, and a few Panzers and Paratroopers turn up in South Italy. Oh well - bombers did their dirty work. Can Goering still be as effective at 2 hp :mischief:

Nothing in Italy Dell - your elite tank in Tubruk is invulnerable to bombardment it would seem.

Hey guys (and gilrs),
I am in other similar pbem - overlord.
How it goes the game here?
Who is winning? If someone could report the situation, that would be great.

Hey Dell19, nice tag "take a break". I am sure need it.

Yama

I (the English) am in charge of all of Spain (eliminated), one city in South France and three cities in North France. Stalemate in North Africa, still all original cities kept. Germany still has most of France. Don't know about Russian front.
France has Tangiers in North Africa.
I have kept Athens and Sparta (Can't remember proper name right now) in Greece, but lost Thessalonica.

The French...er...um North Africans...er...um...Carthaginians? Gosh, we're kind of mixed up. We took our turn and sent it on to the Soviets for now.

Finland front: killed one infantry while losing nothing.

Poland front: Great victory!! The red army destroyed the fleeing german army and liberated Warsaw! The red star is shining upon the palace! Only 2 tank has been destroyed by the small but determined german resistance.

Caucasus front: stalemate. Destroyed one panzer and captured some arty but nothing else.

The bombardment of the eastern front have been intensified, destroying road and improvment.

The achievement for me has been keeping North Africa...

Southern Italy???

I overextended and had too many losses early...now I am basically doing my best to keep the Russians and English from closing in on me (Germany).

German Attacks:

Counter-attack near Ploetsi in which I captured that Arty again. Also defeated several red-lined units mostly with regular tanks, but also infantry.

Panzer defeats Modern Armor (Br) in Tours and recaptures the city.

Bombardment of British Stack approaching Paris with Artillery.

Italy: little to report, granary destroed in Alexandria I believe. Road in northern Spain damaged.

You may always try to make peace with the neutrals, but you are not allowed to require MPP or alliance in the peace talks.

France, November, 1941
Not much happened. Game on to Soviets, whom, we hope, will make the Fierce Russian winter pay...or well...Polish and Romania winter at least

Btw, for lurkers Victory Points are:
Axis: 33657
Allies (Britain & France): 28126
Soviet Union: 17557

Nothing important this time. The red bomber have crippled the transport capacity of germany by destroying road and destroyed the small german force near Galati but nothing else.

Minor counterattack...I killed a Soviet Inf near Ploetsi.

Heavy Artillery Shelling (15+ near Paris) and successful Panzer Led attack that weakened the stack even further, anyways, there are about 8 British Units left...I lost an infantry when trying to finish you off.

I don't know how France got all those units to the resistance but it better have not been by airlift!!!!!

Just a few things rcoutme...

First thing: both Dell and I agree that tech research rates need to be increased. They are just too slow...especially poor Russia who prolly won't get a single tech researched.

Secondly, the whole stipulations with alliances is although accurate, takes some of the civ features out of the game. I know it is historically accurate, but it is really not fun... Anyways, I doubt if I will play another locked alliances at war game because they lack diplomacy which is the main feature of Civ PBEMs. Without the diplomacy of Civ I might as well be playing a real time war game.

As far as improving the scenario is concerned, the only change required is speeding up the tech rates or shortening the individual tech costs.

Where was the last British report? A couple of roads cut, one in Spain and one in North Africa whilst a British bomber was destroyed.

@ BK, noted and Logged. As for where the troops came, none of those troops can be airlifted anyways... so they had to get there some other way....

I will have to consider what to do about the techs and diplomacy.

We brought Christmas presents to our German occupiers in Dijon. We had all sorts of different types of mustards, but they refused delivery, so we sent them in by artillery and then rifle. Apparently, we killed 3 infantry units in the process and injured a few more, sorry about that...guess our guys got a little carried away [party] :band:

Meanwhile, we dropped some presents for our Italian neighbors on their rubber plants, but unfortunately, we may have messed up the roads a bit... :mischief:
