Opportunistic CS slingshot

I can see an opportunistic CS slingshot that works in the following situation:
1) You start WITHOUT mysticism
2) You see an immediate neighbor build stonehenge before you research mysticism yourself.


When you see the above combination of events occur, you might want to consider the following strategy:
1) take over stonehinge immediately so you get GPPs for a GP
2) Avoid researching mysticism (you have stonehenge anyway!)
2) start researching towards currency (hey its a good economy tech anyway)
3) once you get currency research CoL (hey its a good economy tech anyway!)
4) by this time you have a GP, burn him on civil service. That should pop up since you skipped mysticism and all the religious techs.

He would lightbulb one of the religious techs or Masonry as per the new patch.

Even without the new patch he'd still lightbulb Mysticism, IIRC.

I read a post where someone listed the tech chain for GPs and they didn't list mysticism! That was an incomplete post

Well, the idea of taking out Stonehenge early still has some potential. Is there any data on what leaders LIKE building Stonehenge early or is this pretty much anotehr strategy of rare opportunity? (Such as: Love it when weak unpopular unfriendly neighbor has holy city pop up on my border.)

stonehenge isn't a high priority for most AIs. That's why it is so easy to get (it's also because it's so cheap). But the Oracle gives GPP too. And this one is higher on the AI's list.

I wonder if that got adjusted in the latest Warlords patch, because I've seen AIs build Stonehenge a lot in my most recent games.
