swamps/wetlands aren't turned to thundra/snow by illian influence

arkham, i had the same thing a short time ago, have you played other games recently then civ IV? Mine were all scrambled up.... if that is the case reïnstalling direcx could fix the issue
 
Found a bug in purity... I'm not Order, so I don't know if it's a typo or if it affects gameplay.

 
Not sure what is going on here. Suddenly w/o much changing, my games are weird. Loaded up new Orbis and opened a game through the Play Now to clear everything out. Was okay. Started a new game and got this. (see attached).

Something like this happened to me a long time ago in a different game, it occurred because I had the wrong direct x version installed; it was an old version, I believe.

I have added 1 to immortal tag instead of free xp. :mischief: So workers are currently immortal I think :crazyeye:
If anyone can't wait, it is easy to fix on user side. Just edit unitinfo.xml for worker and mud golem (lizard shaper is ok).

Yup, workers are immortal. I was wondering how my worker kept surviving after being defeated in combat...

Well I updated the DirectX and did some other Windows patching. I rebooted and started up the Planetfall mod. It worked. I then booted up Orbis and it is having the same problem (for example the main menu screen shows the options but the pics are blank).

I then closed that and restarted Planetfall and now it's messed up again so it's something in Orbis that is causing the problem.

The only other thing is that I'm running the program w/o the disk (as my laptops internal and external drives are kaput) so maybe the system is having memory problems?
 
perhaps you should try deïnstalling orbis, then reïnstall directx, and then install orbis...

My brother and I are unable to play over LAN....
 
That's really weird. I'd say do what you did before, but then re-download and re-install Orbis at the end (to ensure that no Orbis files are corrupted for whatever reason) and see if it works then.

So, update DirectX (if possible), Windows (if possible), reboot, start planetfall (which was fine after that, correct?) and then Orbis (newly installed). If it happens again, and you're positive that the download was not corrupted, it's not Orbis, but something else.

If it's something else, or if it happened at Planetfall (before playing Orbis) seek an expert's help.


p.s. I am by no means an expert, and if someone has a better explanation of what happened & how to fix it, feel free to chime in.


EDIT: Forgot to mention this, but after DirectX messes up, does it affect any other DirectX games, or only Civ IV (FFH/PF/Orbis)?

Pretty much what I did was uninstall both programs and then reloaded them after updating DirectX and some other drivers. I found that if I reboot, the Planetfall mod goes back to working so there is something odd graphically going on. I also uninstalled and reloaded FfH and then patched it to D w/the media files. It too was having that odd graphic problem. I'm wondering if it is a XP problem.
 
I had a techpriest outside a city get attacked by a stack of 1 horseman and 3 spearmen. After killing the first 3, he died. Next turn, the city adjacent to the battle has 4 badly wounded techpriests in it, each of them with the Revived promotion. I'm not sure if this is intended or not, since this is my first game with Mechanos. I also had 3 other techpriests out with my army, conquering, so this makes 7 of them, on a standard map.



Also, the 2 attached files should be near identical, but I can't edit my post to remove one.

Out of curiosity, are the lanun not suppossed to be capable of adopting Order? I founded the order, then leaves spread to one of my "minor" cities, I can adopt leaves but not order. If it matters... order popped in my capital. Playing as Hannah. Dunno if this is a feature, or...
 
It's not a feature. Lanun should be able to adopt Order... (I think)
 
Damn. The only religion I like BETTER for the lanun then OO... is order. :(

Thanks! Happy to be here. Also having an issue where I can't start a game as the Svarts. I crash every time I try. Doesn't matter if it's a normal game or custom game. I've tried a few different map types, and different Svart leaders. Anyone else run into this?
 
did you patch to 24.a? it was a bug in .24 that races other then human would cause a CtD, but it was fixed in 24.a



Seems to be a lot of problems with religions ....

most of us have made that mistake once, however some like moi have done it multiple times :mischief:
 
I had a bug last night. I tried the Scions out and got one of their character (Themoch?) who had invisibility. I was able to sneak into the Illian territory and start boosting my map, but later the Illians built a fort at a checkpoint and I couldn't get out of their lands. (I also couldn't explore a Wolf Lair in the hope of getting the Teleport event either) I had OB with them, but Themoch doesn't have an Appear spell to remove his Invisibility, so he ended up sidelined in the Wilderness.

In addition, I also noted that some of the TXT_KEYs are missing. The No Membership Civic and a few of the leaders I think. I suspect that the No Inflation / No War Weariness hidden game options also require TXT_KEYs.
 
One of my warriors tried to explore a lion den, on haunted land, and miscast the spell. This is cool and flavourfull, but he gained the "accuracy" promotion next turn, which is odd.
 
Lot's of good stuff in this latest version, Ahwaric. Looks like I'm having an update-a-thon tonite to get to new revs/patches for BTS, FF2, Orbis, and I suppose the leader mod. Glad you are keeping the animals out of town and the Krakens away for at least a while.

One thing I hope you can elaborate on is "Adventurers moved to FF+ spawning mechanics". I have not played FF+ in a while (oh joy, more updates) so I'm not familiar with this.

I was curious about that as well. Explanation is found in this thread.
 
After a few bug free games I got the CtD error again. Crashes when moving to turn 303. Since it's always happen around 300 turns on epic speed I assume it's something being built that causes it.
