what about rails or whatever that is (0 move cost thing) I dont use that as well its imposible to travel around the world in 1 turn.....

Rex looks good so far but Im not sure if that thing on its back isnt to big Ive never examined him so much tho. Anyway keep working day and night I want to be the first person to test it :D
 
Yeah, I've tried to stick as close to the artwork as possible, that whole thing really does stick out like that back there, it must be the engine, which really would need to be quite huge to power a rail gun plus the insane amount of hydraulics in the legs. It'll look more balanced I think when the rail gun is done. Also there's the fact that this thing changes its posture alot when the heels are up. It'll be a job to animate, but I'll definately be keeping an eye on trying to make this look balanced.
 
well its old rex its not so modern as ray so I gess it needs big engine and hydraulicks but that huge back and heels are killing me. Im realy looking forward for your animations how long do they usualy take to make?

Back to the water? I agree with that but it has to be an arsenal so I would have 3 most important metal gears if I wount count that metal gear from mgs 3
 
I really hope to have this all done before the end of this month. With a bipedal unit like this that might be wishful thinking, but about a week should do if nothing gets in the way.

EDIT: Modelling is done! I might fiddle with that camo texture a bit more tomorrow (if I have time tomorrow, since my sister continues to conscript me into painting her house for her) but other than that, it be animating time:
 
Model looks great I wish I could do that as well.
I gess you could try to make it in original colour and in some camo.
Would you mind retexturing ray to original colours? Becose colours you made are for massproduced rays (those without tail) and prototype is grey
Mass produced ray would be great unit to slightly weaker then prototype and cheaper
 
I was in fact considering fixing a few things about Ray, namely the walk animation and a missing joint in the wings, but the Prototype was painted green, granted it's quite desaturated, but it's green for sure. The mass produced versions were tan (as you can tell, the following are in NO way my models!):



So I won't be retexturing Ray, especially since it wasn't designed to be retextured, it would add a lot to an already large job. I had the idea of retexturing Rex from the start, so he's set up approriately. Speaking of which, time to have a crack at those...

oh Im sorry to hear that I was always hoping for retexture. I ges that means you wount do mass produced version

by the way its obvios that those are not your models they are from bonus dvd but it would be great if those were yours :-)

:nope:Sorry, bribe is ineffective cause I'm sure I could find a free download (I'm assuming that's what you've found) for that on my own, but I'd rather watch it in theatres first (which should be tomorrow) and then grab an official copy later.

Besides, Ship of the Line is next, and there's 4 other sailing ships before Arsenal, kicking those back would be plain un-Orthancy.

Great to hear about the Ship Of the Line. At the moment I'm using your Trident as such, but it's too large. While you're at it, what about a new Frigate? The rusty old Vanilla Frigate deserves an update, by the master of sail himself. :)
 
This is in fact in the plans, as I've said in this thread, I plan to swap out every sailing vessel (maybe the ironclad too) with my own versions. I figure Wyrmshaodw, vingrjoe and others have the modern era taken care of inside and out plus backwards. Probably mirrored too.

Frigate is now officially on the to-do list then. At the bottom, but it's on there. I guess you'll just have to make due with a new Ship of the Line, Carrack, and the Flying Dutchman (as well as 2 new Meso-American ships) till then.;)

Certainly have my work cut out for me here.:crazyeye:

I'm currently working on the tricky fortify animation, involving the switch from high-heels to no-heels. I think now I'll keep the heels away for all attacks, and have Rex take a step back to absorb the recoil of the Rail Gun. Otherwise I'd need to give 2 fortify animation options.
 
It looks wery good I cant wait for it to be done. COme on man Ill do anything for arsenal and rex and maybe little retexture of ray to its original colours :D and mass version

Yes Stormy, the victory will be a classic T-Rex roar. Maybe I should also include a guy fleeing in a jeep saying "Must go faster, must go faster, must go faster.":D

I'm doing what I can to get Rex done (really doubt it'll be ready for the May Unit of the Month), I'll probably fix the Ray animations before starting the next unit, since it'll be easier to do that after creating a good walk for Rex. As for Arsenal, to avoid a homicide (w00t! no spelling errors!) I'll consider moving it up to next in line, but only if the requesters of the units it'd be budding ahead of don't argue. Have to play fair in the shipyards.

PS: That 'beating-dead-horse' smily is classic.
 
Alrighty then, democracy is the selected government, so no-can-do on the Arsenal budding in line.
