It might be that I don't look closely enough, but it seems to me that the RPG is slowing down a bit.
Does anyone else have the same feeling? Can/must we do something about it?

Personally, I've got the feeling that the game moves into a direction where the people with 'gold' try to make more 'gold' to get more 'fun'.

Discussion, please!

I haven't got much time to elaborate on this subject, but I think that my point is clear. BTW, I meant this to be a POSITIVE comment, it's no rant of some kind.

Greetings, Shabbaman, pub waiter.

Truthfully, Shabbaman, I don't know if it's slowing down or just going through a natural lull in its progression. I believe the tourneyments and the individual stats gave us our last peak, and now we are shifting gears with a move that will extend and develop those stats through wargames. Once the rules for the wargames are fully defined and understood, we'll probably have another bull session with lots of player involvement. One thing that's nice about the RPG is that everything is connected. Even if there is no upward growth, the filling out of existing venues is still considered activity and growth, or development. The "gold" portion of the RPG can be compared to credits on a machine or gas for the car. We need some basis of a functioning operation to show a logical progression. OMG, I just put myself to sleep.

I think it's slowing down, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. :)

One reason may be that people are putting more energy into the primary demogame at this point. We are no longer a dinky 3-city civ, just starting out, with not much even for the Department Heads to do. We are growing, both geographically and in power. We have emasculated the Aztecs, and are planning war on Japan. All this takes some of our time away from the RPG. But the RPG is subordinate to the primary game, so this is as things should be.

Another point is, like Cyc says, a natural lull in the game. It may seem quiet right now, but there is much going on "behind the scenes", as it were. As the warfare rules are refined and tested, we should see another surge of activity. Then, as the primary game progresses beyond the Middle Ages, we will find another pause, as we move the RPG from a feudalistic society to a more modern one.

And also, for me for example the forum is getting slower day by day... which greatly reduces the effective forumtime for me :-(

quite a lot of people may have left cos of the no p/c thing also i agree there hasnt been much going on recently

Definitely an excellent idea.

Very great idea. Last time we had one, the buisness really picked up. Of course I wasn't there to be able to spend the money...:(

I would propose a 1000g spending spree for business's only.... no army spending, land buying etc. with that money.... Business's only.... That is what needs to pick up.

well me and strider were thinking of doing a grand one for this upcoming weekend but only for a day ill get back to your shortly on that
