Overrated Bands

I personally like fallout boy.

But then I liked greenday when it first came around as well.

Now I find greenday to be over-rated and I don't like them as much anymore. They were an 'of the moment' band, and that is probably why I liked them.

I do suspect fallout boy will be the same as well, as someone else has mentioned earlier. I like them now, but I already find them to be a bit over-rated. Hasn't stopped me from liking some of their songs though.

Sorry for any contradictions. x_x

Led Zeppelin. I've tried, again and again I've tried, to get into their music. I like nothing of their work other than Kashmir and Stairway to Heaven, for a band that is supposed to be one of the greatest ever, I get absolutely nothing from them. Same goes for Pink Floyd, except I don't even have a couple songs of theirs I appreciate.

Slipknot

I listen a lot of this kinda music, but I can't find anything that lifts them above the others. Some of my friends are fanatical fans.

led zeppelin's first albums were very overrated.

3 was a bit better, houses of the holy was decent, and physical graffitti was ace.

then they fell off again. understandably though.

Journey. I hate Journey with every fiber of my body.

Korn, Limp Biscuit, N*sync, Back street boys, 98*, Gwen Steffani as a solo artist, Brittny, Agulara,

Ok I agree with these but...

PISTOLS AT DAWN

U2, Rolling Stones and the Beatles second, thirded, or Fourthed, along with Green Day and Limp Biskit and Tool and Linkin Park and Nirvana

While I agree these bands are highly rated, I like them enough not to personally think they're overrated. I like Zeppelins fun stuff more than their popular like you mentioned, but its harder to find those pieces since you probably dont hear them on the radio, and while Pink Floyd is weird, a lot of it is pretty neat. Maybe they are overrated, but meh, I like em.

For your pistols of dawn....

 Journey!!! Gees!

suspect the Beatles are a little overrated, but thats going to happen when you're so...highly...rated. I dont think very highly of Ringo Starr as a drummer.

It doesn't sound spectacular now, but by standards of the time he was doing some revolutionary things, and he was always a tasteful player.

Led Zeppelin was great, and still is. Thier music influenced many, and is still widely popular to this day.

There aren't many Slipknot fanatics, but they are really good. Despite having mainstream success, they are good.

U2. They are not bad, just overhyped, otherwise i like their music just fine.

I love U2! :splat:

You just don't really like Classic Rock, do you?

Aces High . . . :mischief:

(Though actually I have never met anyone who has heard of them except the one guy who is obviously biased, so I don't know what they are "rated" anyways.)

Some of us have bought thier CD, ya know!

I always liked Ringo. He's also still alive, so it's either him or Paul. :scared:

Beatles - As much due to overhype (especially of Lennon) as anything.
Rolling Stones
Grateful Dead
KISS
Van Hagar

Well, a few folks on CFC bought the CD. Truthfully though, I only know of one group who has not recieved us very well, and thats the users of Garageband.com (and perhaps Kenyon College)

I'm not totally sure if I buy that. Drumming technique and *chops* certainly have evolved, but not *that* much (many of the instrument's best performers predated, or at least were peers with, Ringo). The Beatles were AMAZING song writers...nobody in history can write a pop-hook like they can. I've never read an account on the band though that Ringo was a major contributor to their creative process. He did his job...but could you imagine how good they would have been if they had an Ace back there?

Or maybe that would have ruined their chemisty. I dunno. I don't think I would put Ringo in a top 25 list of GREAT drummers.

The Beatles are definently overrated.

Just about all the lameass punk rock that's popular nowadays.

Chemical Brothers, Fall Out Boy, all the lame emo crap.

Phish, Weezer, man I could go on forever...

WTH.

My Chemical Romance is not emo, their music appeals to people from all age groups. Even my mom listens to it.

Its better than rap anyway :)

I'll give my vote to U2.

No reason why a mediocre band with 3 good songs should be the biggest band on the globe.
