Own4 Celts 130k DG- Now Open SG

 for Chieftain. Hey, I've lost my first chieftain game to MDI's (had both KT and SoZ too :mischief: ).

A friend of mine is coming from his place (like 3h from here) tomorrow so I don't know when I can play this; I'll gladly start if you don't mind waiting a bit, like 2 or 3 days... we need some other fools anyways.

HMMM, I think I'll bite if you'll have me...
I did sign up Own...
Settling on the BG is fine with me, we only need one more for combo factory, there'll be one somewhere.
Do we want to ICS or just build tightly?

My first Civ (ever, Civ1/2 included) was last winter, on Conquests.

Got it

Not certain if I can start it immediately, but will try tonight.
EDIT: Could you please edit my name, it's Khan_Asparuh... you wrote it Kahn... Thank you

Pre-Turns: Found BGville on spot and get enough BG's around it for whatever you like, ever. There's even that deer dude that screams HEY, I'M A 4-TURN SETTLER TOO ! (or at least a 2-turn worker).

T 5.
BGville warrior -> worker in 4 (on growth)

T 9.
Send Worker 1 (Adam) to chop
IT:

T 10.
Worker -> Granary, worker 2 (Abel) to chop

T 15.
Awkward MM to have granary built (ETA T18) 1t before growth (ETA T19)

T 18.
Granary -> warrior (we ned MP pretty bad, you'd guess)

T 20.
Warrior-> Settler, it should be relatively easy to have it MM'ed on growth past 6.
After that, perhaps we'll need more warriors (to scout) and workers before going more settlers.

Right now this map is food galore. I don't know how you did that Own, but I can't seem to find a map that's not either desert or no-water plains or just plain FP all around.
Capital has 3 river BG, 2 more BG's to be worked on. I chopped 2 forests and had no BG luck on them, but I roaded the tiles anyways, so we can save worker turns later.

Hill and flat grass below the deer are river-tiles. The only tiles that are not river are the SW-NE corridor between the mountains, rest is what it looks like.

I'd go for that spot E with the wheat first, since the capital will be working the deer for a BG in the near future. The wheat city can become a nice and easy worker factory. It could be founded one spot NW from there to have an easier grab on more BG's, but that depends on wether we want more or less optimal placement for later on.

Yes it is. We might want to found red on the hill (river too) though, since later in the game it'll have tons of mountains to work on. But anyways, we'll get a very equivalent city on the Blue (or the tile NW) and it won't interfere with the capital. Blue thus seems more worthwhile as a first city, until the BG's are worked around BGville.

I'll try tonight (actually in hour or 2).

Khan, Khan !!!

Khan has got it as Kahn seems occupied

Looks nice. We have 2 settler factories and I think they’ll work at full speed for quite some time. Sent the capital warrior out there on exploration. Research goes down to min, Alpha still in 30. I know it would have gone up but I see no need of research now. The game is precious, we MUST build the combo factory.

Settler – Settler. Going for the second factory.

Meet India. We’re up Pottery, they’re up BW, Alpha and WC. 20g and polite.

Found Wheaty City, guess where. Settler – Settler. I’ve made a mistake, our worker is roading instead of mining a BG. Reorder, 1 turn lost.

Found Camulodunum, warrior.

Settler-settler. India is up 5 techs on us now.

I’ll hand over my rule. The settler is on a coast. I’d like to see curraghs out there AFAP, but if you dislike this city’s location feel free to change it.
The combo factory is ready. After the settler is built, we can either go for 2 warriors and then a settler or barracks, worker, worker and settler. I would advocate for the second choice.
I haven't rushed any temple, I think we should do it soon in BGVille (10 shields in, rush, then build a warrior, worker, worker, settler)
A limited dotmap.

Shouldn't we be researching to iron working? I know that you don't have to panic and go crazy conquering and culture building in 130k, but we don't have all game to research techs for no reason. Unless, you're researching it so hopefully you can trade if for bronze?

I think its worth wasting research turns to switch to bronze working right now.

That almost too many BG's for my brains to handle, on the west side. Nice going on the land grab - I think we'll really really need Camu to pump workers every 2 turns (irrigated game will do that for us) because 1 worker/city will just be good enough, no luxury there.

Rush the temple? In BGville, right now, we could switch to a temple and make a worker out of the next turn, if I'm not mistaken. Problem with the rush is happiness, and that city is our only serious lux slider pusher atm.

Both dots look A1 fine to me. It's just too bad we haven't found any lux yet. I say whenever a lux is found we run the nearest settler to it.
