I don't have Hearts of Iron 2. When I can I'll get Doomsday.

Don't you need Hearts of Iron 2 as well, to play Doomsday? I thought Doomsday was just an expansion pack.

It only goes from 1936 to 1953 apparently.

Doomsday is indeed a stand alone expansion pack.

And Hearts of Iron II only goes from 1936 to 1947. ;)

Oh. Is it true that you can run a game from the first Paradox game in the series to Doomsday, with the same nation? Apparently it is.

Yes. You can go from Crusader Kings to EUII(and I would imagine EUIII as well) to Victoria to HoI II or Doomsday. Altough I would imagine that some crazy stuff happens when you transfer, as I think that each game has a different province layout.

Yes. Seems right. What exact years does Vicky Rev encompass?

I would imagine that EU3 will have the ability, especially since it now conveniently begins at the same time as Crusader Kings ends. Wouldn't surprise me if it had an expansion to encompass the Napoleonic War and take the game up to 1836 so as to immediately lead on to Victoria.

Problem with such a thing is that it's all too easy be the supreme power early on, which takes the fun out of continuing the game. Hell, it happens during a single game of EU2 or HoI2, let alone across every game :)

I would imagine it would be a lot funner to take a really small, really hard nation like Naxos or Riga through each game than a super-power or even a middle power

So I need these to play the full game: Crusader Kings, EU2/EU3 and some expansion, Victoria, Victoria Rev and Doomsday?

Well, each one is a full game in it's own. You would only need all of them if you really wanted to go from the start to the end. And each one has quite a few difference from the rest.

Yes, I just want to experiment with this "whole game" thing.

I want one of you to do the whole game thing, not on a hard difficulty, maybe like medium or something. Or point me to a thread (perhaps on the paradox forums) where it's been done.

They've added an expansion to Victoria, HoI2 has an expansion, EU3 is out now, what's next? Crusader Kings 2? Ancient Empires?
