Dont these guys make super complex games? I played EU III or two or whichever one just came out and didn't like it, but I liked the complexity, do they have anything like it just less boring?
Grand strategy isn't boring, you just are use to the fast paced games.
Not an expansion, but there is a modern day mod: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=329903
I played Galciv for a year, civ III for 2 years and civ IV for about a year, on top of that Im currently playing WiC, was playing CoH before that and Supreme commander before that, Morrowind before that and Im always playing oblvion. I disagree with the blanket assumption. I liked the game, but there just wasn't anything to do really, there wasn't a fun economic model like in Gal civ, and the warfare and pace were just drab. I would like a game thats complex, but not mind numbingly boring at the same time, I thought civ and Galciv were a great pace, they always had something to do, in EU I just found myself mindlessly sitting there a lot.
Those are either turn based or real time strategy. You are not the type of gamer who plays Grand Strategy. The point is to micromanage and build up so you can do things in the future. Getting there is 80% of the fun.![]()
