Hallo,

i am playing FFH for more then 8 month and like it very much. I made some promo for it. Now we are playing in with PBEM, like the normal Civ 4 games.

Such a game lasts 1-3 year to complete. There we have the problem that a bug can destroy the game after 1 year for instance.

So I am asking for a feature freezed build, long therm download ablity, with not breaking save games and support for CTD and other big problems. (I still don't know how the game code protection within the save games works ...)

Is something out there ? If not, some kind of stable version is very welcome :)

Sorry, I cant promise support on any version for the next 1-3 years. FfH is a free product and the latest version is given best effort support by its creators. If stability and reliability are as important as they are in your situation you may want to consider running a standard BtS game.

Thanks for the answer and thank you very much for this mod, Kael.

I am not asking for active support over 1-3 years.

At the moment, we have a new version every 2-4 month to introduce new features (what I like very much to play alone) and around 10 bug fixes in between. For PBEM we grab a version, and an actual patch and have to hope that there is no major bug, that we may step over in round 100 (one year later PBEM) but was fixed 2 patches later. For instance, I don't know how to find and download Version 0.30 with the newest patch. There is only one version online.

Maybe there is a version that looks stable for you, and will be download able parallel to the new builds.

Kael tends to leave everything hosted, so if you just alter the filename in the link to state what you want (change 32.exe at the end to 30.exe) you ought to find what you are seeking.

To get the most reliable build you can, you definitely want to go with something outdated. So look over the Bug Thread for each version and decide which features you cannot live without to determine which version you want to use, then grab the latest patch for that version, or the patch which your group deems to be the most stable of the set.
