PBEM - any candidate ?

I tried your copies Old_Lion and got the foloowing, although it did not crash to desktop.

1. Could not load intial game data
2. Falied to load setup information
3. The save file that you selected is protected to ensure that the assets in your mod folder have not been changed.

Could this relate to what Mcwill posted above.

Same results with Mcwill's game posted above.

I want to test something, this is a completely random PBEM map with completely default settings.

Duel size, 2 players, No admin password, player password is 1.

I just want to establish if there is any compatibility between us at all.

PS. Bosun, I get a different message with your save. But the error only appears for a fraction of a second and than the application crashes.

PPS. Has anyone tried out my wacky idea from the last page?

None of those saves work for me, Admins game to Beeri gives the same error as before, the other two CTD after saying 'Failed to uncompress game data'.

I'm running Server 2008 R2 and civ is installed on the D: drive.

I'm thinking this is just FFH is unable to be played via PBEM...

Can anyone try loading this?

There is about .1% chance that this might actually work.

Same settings as before.

Just don't load it as PBEM. Instead just load it as you would a normal save game, just double click at the file.

tested all saved games, including PPQ's last

different messages, but failure every time.

There have been FFH PBEM games in the past, so maybe it is an issue with patch m ?

Have you tried with the instructions I edited in?
I only want to test a theses here...

I was poking around today and saw a thread where they were running it successfully. But that was 2007, if I remember correctly.

Well if all else fails we can try with FF and Orbis.

I started a new thread asking if anyone has made this work in M. The next step is to post to the bug thread, I guess. Oops. I see you did that.

Considering that the modmods use different DLLs they are essentialy mods in their own right.
So they might work.
