PBEM Game Conquests Ver 1.12

Ok, what is the deal on finding a replacement? If it's going to to take this long, we need to just retire his civ. All you have to do is send the turn to the game host, he logs in with the admin password, retires the civ, and passes the game along. This is getting ridiculous. This game had so much potential except for one player. Now that the one player is gone, we need to get this game rolling along again.

Also, we need to be using the 1.20 patch. The 1.22 patch doesn't work.

I'm definitely keen to carry this game on, it's been going sweetly until now. I don't know why Mickeyj never showed up, he's usually good like that, but there you go.

Lets just retire Blocki's civ then unless someone else is found within 24 hours?

Also, I've heard there are issues with both the 1.22 and 1.20 patch with respect to multiplayer. It might be best to stick with 1.15 until Friaxis has sorted this patch debacle out.

The only problem about the patch is most everybody has already upgraded to the 1.20 patch. It would by silly to require everybody to go back to using the 1.15 patch and having two versions of civ3 on their computer. But since nobody is using 1.22 patch (impossible if they have been playing PBEM), then it makes sense to use the 1.20 patch.

I haven't upgraded yet, as I read there were MAJOR problems with 1.20 and multiplayer. Therefore what's the point in playing with 1.20???

Yes, 1.20 has problems, but it is playable. The "point" in playing with 1.20 is almost everybody (I know not everybody) has already patched to 1.20 before we knew it had bugs in it. Since most people have already upgraded to 1.20, it would be easier for the remaining few to patch to 1.20, then it would be for the majority to delete the game, reinstall it, d/l the 1.15 patch for this game, and the 1.20 patch for other games, and run two versions of civ3. Other than that, there is no benefit to running 1.20. It simply makes sense because most people have already got it.

there are good fixes in 1.20, the major problems are in multiplayer, not PBEM, but in multiplayer, though there are problems as always but not major that i know of, if you are going to play multi you should go with 1.22, but not if you want to continue with curretn PBEM because it wont load games from 1.20. I dont really care as far as this game is concerned, i am at 1.20, if you dont want to go to 1.20 retire my civ or get a replacement for me, like that is going to happen we spent 37 days trying to get a replacement for the last guy, emporer predesad is tired of staring off into the distance and seeing nothing anyway, just put the Americans out of their misery.

Ok i'll email the save back to vancouver when iget home in a couple of hours.
Btw, i think a joint patch is coming out 1.20 and 1.22 together, maybe we could use that? It better solve all thse damn patch problems

Recieved the SAV.

I'll play it tonight once I've worked out how to have dual installations of Civ3 - I'm in several other PBEM's where we've all decided to hold off upgrading.

Glad to be underway again! :)

Here's how you do it. If you have 1.15, just copy your entire conquest folder. Now you have a folder called conquests (you always had this folder), and a folder called copy of conquest. The copy of conquests folder will be your 1.15 folder. Now download the 1.20 patch and install it. Your regular folder will be your 1.20 folder. Pretty simple.

I have also sent it to Vancouver.

The American Emoporer is outraged, it seems while he was sleeping and the game rested someone came along and stole all those valuable resources he bragged about just a couple turns ago.

Very nice way to return to the cia pbem:
scout pops a goody hut, i get a free city, and uncover 6 wheat next to eachother in the city's radius! :D

played and sent
