The game is acting weird on my second civ (Ottomans) - it is not crediting me the techs I know and will not let me research some others. Very strange. Any thoughts?

Either re-start now or see what happens next time around. It acted a little funny first turn as it would not let me select a tech but asked for one this turn - including the ones it should already know. It would not let me build a scout, and asked to research hunting whcih the tech chart shows as green. Just odd.

Whoops, actually this rings a bell. I think it asked me again on my second turn what to research, when I thought I set it first turn.
I'll have another look. Tonight.

Edit: Quick check on civ4 bugs forum. Saw nothing similar.
Posted query, to see if anyone else had seen this kind of thing.

gps - again. Everything works. The Ottoamns have different starting techs. Odd, but they work. I went all the way out of the game to load it. I was loading from the first game. Should not be the problem but who knows.

I just received Xi and its now giving me problems.

Should we be playing Xi2, I'm not sure?

I have turned on a firewall because of the trojan, to block its outgoing emails.

For no reason that makes sense to me, I can no longer access gmail, on this one PC behind my router.

Except for earlier when I received the saves...

I'd like to stick with gmail if possible.

Edit - trivial point, gmail needs https port open as well as http. fixed.

I don't know what Xi2 is or what's going on. Are we restarting the game? If so, I haven't recieved Xi2.

Weird things happening with research screen again, until I exited and re-entered.

A village provides a tech we can really dig, for a change.
