Does anyone ever play "Only Peace" games?

I have never tried one, but it seems the strategy would be much different, as obviously the Kill your neighbor options are out. And I suppose you could pretty much ignore military except for riot control in cities.

I think the "peace only" games really come down to a culture war in the end, never played one myself, not about to either

Seems ridiculous, since the AI is unable to pursue a culture victory. Even on Deity you prob would easily win, unless you can't settle the 3 city's.

I didn't even know you could prohibit war in the settings. But, I'll frequently try to win without going to war. I've got one right now where I'm up to about 1100 A.D. and nobody has come after me yet (except the barbarians, of course).

i think winnig without war is pretty hard because other civs can build the wonders u left or pick up religions and have more culture than you

I think it depends on if the Civs adjust for no war or not. Like, normally that stupid Aztec would be building 300 frigates to park in his harbors. But if frigates and other units are worthless, not sure what the AI does.

Getting a bit tired of the same old wars started by the same old people game after game. I need something different. Gets a bit boring when you can almost predict to the exact year when Catherine will turn on you.

1750-1850 is when about 95% of them declare war, if they are ever going to.

It has gotten so predictable that quite often on continents I won't even build any military at all until around 1650+ AD.
