Pretty sure I'm not. Just because the F4 screen shows that I can research Combustion doesn't mean I'm close to destroyers. And destroyers require oil or uranium, both which require a tech to discover. So yes, further than 10 turns away from destroyers.

Thank goodness this post is no longer valid. As happens to me so many times, I was without oil. After practicing lebensraum I have acquired oil and upgraded to destroyers. Now if I can just keep Ruff_Hi from using his upgraded destroyers from sinking mine I will be doing ok.

errr - I don't believe that any of my ships have ever sunk any of yours ... if anything - it has been the other way around.

Now - the Viking navy has been known to sink Chas boats ... but I think that run might be coming to an end with Chas fielding huge flying contraptions.

Was, unless he has another fleet. He does seem to know how to mass produce them when needed. I have found it very difficult to move into another's domain in this game. Lots of or fliers needed.
