She is unlocked by the fifth or sixth character on the PS2 version, but I guess it may be a case of looking for gaps if your mate hasn't found her yet.

I'm now finding the game fairly reasonable, it rewards practice. I've finished it with seven characters and anticipate more to come. Still no Tokyo secret area though, and I can't find all the bonus point discs there either.

Well he's finished all the characters, Officer Dick, Wolverine and the custom one but still can't find her. I doubt that it's just the downhill level gaps. Possible, though. :crazyeyes
There's a set of really mean rails at the bottom of the downhill that's one of the gaps. There are four rails that are low at one end and then go high, all with gaps between. It's damned hard to get on and although I made three of the jumps, I just flew off before the final one.
I may have a look on the net to see how to get PC.:enlighten

Well the net was useless. Hmmmm. I thought last night that you might get her if you complete all the characters. By this, I mean that you finish the game and get their videos, but you also do the downhill level and pick up all the extra stat points for them. This wouldn't take too long, especially if you've already finished the proper levels with them all. If this doesn't work, then all the gaps as well possibly. I don't know though. My mate did finish the game by using the cheats for most of the characters as he earned them, so I'm trying to finish it by only using the cheats to get the gaps. This could be another way. Still have no idea. Damn.

Well I've now finished the game with all the characters, and made all the gaps, but still no sign of Carrera. I even called a custom skater Private Carrera in the hope that this would yield something, but alas, no. Those of you with the PS2 version may like to try this, as it worked in THPS2, but doesn't seem to in this one.
Basically all you do is name your custom skater after one of the people who worked on the game and they will appear in the game. Joel Jewett, the president of Neversoft, was in THPS2, but none of the people from the manual that I've tried have worked. I tried Private Carrera, Kelly Slater and Darth Maul but didn't get the characters from the PS2 version. Doh! I'm beginning to think that Private Carrera isn't in the PS1 version at all and that they released it quickly for Christmas without finishing it properly. Obviously they had done the PS2 version, but then rushed out a pale imitation on the first console, hoping that people would be happy with just having something. To be honest, I was, but want more depth now.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is great!!!!!!!!!!!

An amazing game!!! I always skate as myself though, I created myself onh the create a skater mode. As for my favourite trick it would be the 900! I can get it inside a pool but I'm practising getting it across a gap, I also love the casper great for linking grinds.
My favourite skate spot so far is Canadam, pretty cool!!
