Playtest Feedback Thread

Portugeese Maceman (front) is still a red orb, but the other red orb issues are fixed.

The Native American city set, during the industrial era, appears to feature The White House.
Edit: Nevermind, that's just how the capital looks in some citystyles as of the industrial/modern eras. Just looked kinda odd with the older looking buildings around it.

Machu Pichu doesn't seem to work. The wonder itself gives me the base bonuses (like the +2 currency), but it puts nothing on a peak and I don't get money from the peaks.

Early European Great Prophet has a black box behind his head on the unit previs in the bottom left corner when the unit his highlighted
Said great prophet's bulbing animation hangs a bit.

Machu Pichu -does- work, it just doens't work when placed with world builder.

The early European Great Prophet and Aesir Missionary are both screwy, so don't worry about those. I'm trying to get them fixed.

And as far as testing wonders goes; if you don't want to go through the trouble of building the wonder, not all of them will wind up working if you simply plop them down in WB. What you have to do, if you want to go the World Builder route is give yourself the prereq. techs (through give techs by era), go into the regular game, set your city to build the wonder you wanted, and then go back into WB and give yourself some engineers to rush the wonder. That's the best way to do it and it guarantees that you see the wonder splash/movie and get the desired effects.

Got this randomly during the game, don't know the cause. Didn't cause a crash, just ignored it.

Also-
The following two wonders don't work:
-Richard's Crusade. Religion doesn't spread to conquered cities, this includes cities you have conquered and cities you conquer afterwards. I also notice the Sid's Tip claims it gives knights a city raider bonus, but it doesn't.
I'd also strongly suggest making this wonder come later once it's fixed. Monarchy is kinda early, maybe have it come with feudalism.

-Flavian Ampitheter. Conquered an Arab city, never produced an Ansar instead of a Knight. Tried 50 knights in two Arab cities, and 50 in one of my own.

Yeah, this has something to do with BUG, but so far EmperorFool hasn't seemed to do anything about it so I don't know. As far as I know nothing happens, so it may just be something that occurs when there is a DebugDLL and BUG.

I have tested both of these wonders and they seem to work for me. I'll try them out again. Out of curiosity which civ were you when you tried the Flavian Amphitheatre. FYI King Richard's doesn't give your religion to previously conquered cities, only ones you conquer afterwards. Also if the Arabs are dead you won't produce their units, so if you totally conquered them you won't be able to produce an Ansar.

Arabs aren't dead, still can't make an Ansar.
And I conquered the Arab cities long after building King Richards, my religion didn't spread into them. The only faith they had was Zoroastrianism, I was Annunaki.

I was Germany (Bismarck.)

Alright, I'll test both of those out right now.

I'd also like to get feedback from other playtesters about these two wonders. They worked for me, otherwise I wouldn't have released the playtest. So I'll check them right now, along with screenshots, and we'll see what the issue is.

I started a game as England against Arabia, made sure we both got a religion (which wasn't hard since Arabia starts with Mysticism anyway), and then I built both King Richard's Crusade (in London) and the Flavian Amphitheatre (in York). I mention the cities they were built in because you will notice in the first example the unit is built in London (i.e. not even the same city as the FA). As you can see the Flavian Amphitheatre works, I built a Knight and got an Ansar Warrior:

Now for King Richard's Crusade, I built up an army and set out to attack a city that only had Islam. In this case it was Damascus. I attack the city, conquer it, and there you go; Christianity! Check it out:

So both wonders work perfectly fine for me. I guess I am going to need another playtester to try them both out. BTW I created eight Knights and got two Ansars.

Well this is odd.

I reloaded an earlier save, tried again. Both wonders still failed to work.
I started up a new game. Duel, Germany and Arabia, I use worldbuilder to get us both to the right tech area, get some great engineers in to get the two wonders...
And it works this time. Both do.

I'm testing out various things to see what caused the error in the previous round. At first I thought it was Theocracy, but it still works with Theocracy as my active civic. Will try Slavery.

Edit: Nope, slavery works too.
No clue what the screw up was.

I can officially say that all of the wonders I've built now work.
I have to ask, though. Is the Sid's Tips a mistake in saying Richard's Crusade is meant to give a city raiding bonus to knights, or is that an actual bonus that the wonder isn't giving?

Hm, doesn't sound good
I will try them out too tonight

Some quick suggestions (not flaws, just my thoughts)

-Move King Richards Crusade up to Feudalism.
-Turn down the volume a bit on the Zoroastrianism music.
-Rename the Babylonian Bowman to Sab Qassi, which is the Akkadian term for a military-based archer. Itu'u would work as well, if you want a shorter term. This just means backup/backlines/fortified military archer.
-Rename the Indian Fast Worker to Majadura, meaning worker/laborer.

It is supposed to give city raider to Knights, but I may have forgot to put it in. I'll check it out.

Now when you tested these the first time did you actually BUILD them or did you just put them in your city via world-builder? Because the way the python is set up I think you actually have to build them.

EDIT: I might as well say this to the other playtesters too. Please PLAYtest the mod. Don't just set up stuff in WB, I need you guys to play out full games for me here.

I built them both times. I did -rush- build them with GEs, but I did that on the attempt where it worked too.

Hmm, alright, I have no idea what happened then. Just let me know if it stops working again.

Will do. I'm going to keep repeating this to see if it happens again.
It could have ties to that unexplained error I mentioned earlier.

That error appears to be attached to deals between civs. Like Open Borders, War, Trades etc. But I don't know where it is from and it seems to have something to do with BUG rather than anything I have added (it has actually been happening since I added BUG... thought some of you playtesters would have noticed this before... hmm... )

Okay, so I posted the problem I had in the wrong thread. This time I've got it right :D How do I move my attachment from there to here? It's about an error message I got while unpacking the .rar file.

I think EdgeCrusher had the same problem. Try redownloading it (and please actually do it, don't just say you did, I had that happen before and it pissed me off when I found out) and let me know if that worked. It worked for him.

Any thoughts on the Bowman/Fast Worker name changes?
If you don't like them, there's more I could suggest.

Yeah, I don't mind changing that, but could you post it in the appropriate thread?

I literally just want this to be about things in the platyest.
