On major patches, Mac's versions are generally behind PC's, which essentially prevent people from playing together across these platforms. Please consider sending a support request to both Asypr and and 2K to prevent this from happening in the future patches. This should be easily doable by letting people to downgrade to a common patch using Steam's beta features. If you're not inclined to write the text, I am providing it below, please copy and paste.

Title: Cannot play CIV 6 across Mac/PC
Text: Because Mac patches are coming late, we cannot play across these platforms. We are forced to update our games to most recent versions, we aren't given the option to downgrade, and you guys are not releasing patches for all the platforms concurrently. I understand some development may be behind, but the way you are doing things at the moment prevents us to play without any recourse. Please either release the updates concurrently or enable people to downgrade to common versions.
