Hi all,

======= IGN REVIEW (part of it) =======
This time around all of the possible unit actions are available via buttons at the bottom of the screen. In the previous game, you had buttons for all the main actions, but the more obscure ones required you to know the appropriate hotkeys. Now all of these options (including irrigate to city, build trade network, and several others) are conveniently placed alongside the more basic worker actions. On the worker front, the expansion prohibits you from adding workers to cities experiencing starvation

==================================

This IGN review really strikes me again, that questions that are always in my head is that:

1. What can a worker do to improve the terrain of a city?
2. Does improved terrain makes a different to a settler/city than a none improved terrain?
3. Can some expert highlight me what IGN review is saying? I think I missed out some functions of the worker as I play by menu.

(I searched irrigate/worker/improve and has too many hits, any kind soul pls advice me directly)

Thks, DA.

1. Nothing.
2. No, but if you settle on a jungle, the jungle is automatically cleared.
3. Instead of the usual 'goto', 'build road' buttons on the lower center of the screen, there are some more buttons. A lot more.

Please post this questions in the faq or newbie thread. Also, read through the faq, forum rules, and most importantly, the strategy articles from the war academy. Cracker has written an excellent article on worker actions (and more).

Welcome, by the way.

1. You can find that in the faq. Also, you need to patch your civ3 up to 1.29 to get some of them to work. An example of this is the 'stack movement', by pressing 'j'. In ptw, there seems to be a button for it.
2. Yes it is :D

The buttons are only there if that is selected in the preferences - I'm not at home now, so I can't check, but in the preferences there's an option to 'show advanced buttons', I think it's called.

Hold on to your monitor before activating that though - it just might fly off your table :)
