I think it was far-sighted samurai who toppled the Tokugawa Shogunate, brought in westernization and generally turned Japan into a modern power in the next 20 or 30 yrs. The Emperor Meiji himself was mostly a figurehead.

seriosly, i have to question 'facism', ok, one of my views, i 'respect' hitler in ways. before you all jump 2 conclusions, I AM NOT A NAZI! I just think some of the things he did, like taking germany from biing a real crap country, to being a powerful as country that defied the allys, they way he did it was crap. I dont think killing jews is a very nice idea, same with blacks and gypsies.
seriosly, i really respect people who stand up from oppresion, which is why i love punk so much. but yeah, it just annoys me to see people naming the axis as 'facism', that was just their pollitical veiw, (in a ****ed way that they were just socialists for germans), and dont concentrate on the 'good' that hitler did, (ok, im gonnna get **** for that last one, but i mean like stopping germany from going to the total crap')
so to all of you out there, how would the ideal goverment system work? the reason i dont really like democracy is that there is too much 'power' in money, and the gap between rich and poor increases.

There are ways and ways of saying things scorch, and maybe someday you may be able to tell us how you admire some of Hitler's achievements, whilst not endorsing any of them. But it has to be said right, in a completely objective fashion. In the course of my studies, I have come across some very nice elderly Germans who remember some of the good things that resulted from Hitlers policies, but these do not in any way validate his rule - The means do not justify the ends.
In my opinion, men and women can be great, whilst not necessarily being good; certainly, some of the great names of histroy are there for all the wrong reasons.
I suspect I understand what you are trying to say, garbled and punky as it may be , but one suspects you will have to polish up on some of the general facts etc, in order to argue such a case with any success.

I agree Simon, I am not saying that I'm glad Hitler even exsisted, but I think what NZ needs at the moment, is a great leader who can get us outta the **** we are in. NZ sux. so im gonna be a communist leader of NZ.... mohwaawawah!!!
