Poor spies?

I can't recall the exact details surrounding this, but I seem to remember that I once used CTRL-E when I had no spy in any rival civs and was able to steal tech from one of them.

As a side note, NEVER use a spy to see an enemy's troops unless you're about to head to war against him. The wait between turns while you have to watch his little men move around all throughout his empire is unbearable

Yeah spies in civ iii blow. Just because I have the money I have been running a prop campaign in a former Bab city held by the Germans. I was about to get the city but the Germans stole it from me, so instead of going to war against a former ally I ran prop campaigns. almost 6000 late the civ turns. But at the same time a Roman city near my new holdings flips. It cost me less money to rush the culture buildings then it did to prop flip the city. I guess though that it is reallistic. How much money would it have cost us to make one of the USSR cities flip over to us. Or even the city of Tiujana on the California Mexico border?

Hey Biggboy!

Well almost every Dane speaks Danish, English, German and often one more language ( Danish as primary ). One of the reasons is that few foreign people speak Danish, so how would we trade etc. just speaking Danish? -hehe.

I like Canada, USA and many other countries a lot but I love Denmark, probably because it’s my motherland, but still there’s a lot of great things here that you wont find anywhere else in the entire world.

One of the good things is that Denmark do not have any direct enemies, only the one that attacks our allies - like the terror-attack at US was in some way attack on us to :(
-We have elite-soldiers in Afghanistan helping right now!

Some facts:

Denmark is one of the most educated countries in the world, one of the richest, and actually one of the biggest ( hehe if you count Greenland, Island, etc. under Denmark, if not one of the smallest ).

The reason why we "are so educated :crazyeye: is that Denmark does not really have any natural resources to sell, so we must sell our services and products.

And what do you mean by: (is there denmarkish? or is it Swedish mostly?)???

Please write me ( martinmj@wanadoo.dk ) if you want more info, or something else!

By the way check www.danmark.dk, there’s a lot! :goodjob:

stay on topic, please

i thought greenland was part of denmark. don't danish people consider greenland their own territory? or is it some big chunk of ice that isn't really important in the minds of danish people?

good food btw, danishes are from denmark right? :)

Hey romelus!

Well Greenland is a part of Denmark but since 1979 they have had their own partiment to "create local laws".
Also they are represented by two, out of aprx. 168 ( I think ) in the Danish partiment. But when people talks about Denmark many does not consider Greenland a part of Denmark, even though it is!

And yeah danish is Danish!
Kinda lame to say "Well, I am Danish in the US" - hehe.
We are also providing almost the whole world with pork and bacon! hehe and much more! :)

So come to Denmark if you are hungry! ;)

There's a lot of pig farmers here in Canada that would dispute that claim. :D

Hehe okay there, but check it out, I really do believe vi have more market than Canada! :)

hey martin... thats cool that most ppl speak english there... what about the other scandinavian countries north of you?

Sweden and Norway look much like Denmark, there are differenses but not to many. We can understand eachother ( Swedish, "Norsk" etc. is "understandeble" for a Dane ) :p

Sweden and Denmark look at eachother as a "brother-country/people", and for a good reason. One of the reasons is that most of Sweden, if not all, once was Danish!
We support each others millitary. Sweden has the greatest millitary of us because of their neutrual status. ( not i NATO/OTAN )

Looking at education etc. are Denmark, Sweden and Norway very alike. Higheducated, rich countries. Again because of the few resources here. Even though we have discovered pretty muck oil these last years. So yes I do not belive you can find a Dane, Swede etc. under 60 years that do not speak English good. :goodjob:

About the oil. Norway has most. And the reason for that is that our Prime Minister for aprx. 20 years ago gave the right to oil, some places in the sea ( where the oil then accured LOL ) to Norway and "Fæøerne", which means that we actually gave for many billion dollars oil away. :(

But BiggBoy as I said most of us speak several languages, I speak/write Danish, English, Swedish, Deutch, and Spanish.
And I am on the matematik line in business-college ( there is matematik lines and language lines ).

By the way, not many people in USA/Canada knows much abot Denmark or the Nordic countries in general, right?

We (some of us) know about staying on topic

Perhaps at the moment, but with all the pig factories that have been springing up the past few years, we could be giving you a run for your money soon. It's actually been causing some problems, since some of these operations are so big, they're creating a fair amount of pollution. A lot of local people are starting to get upset whenever there's a plan to build a new one. Still, it will never become as big as our beef industry.

Yes, that would be a correct assumption. We know much more about the southern European nations than we do about the northern ones, they rarely come up in the media. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that those nations are so peaceful, there's no bad news to report. Don't feel bad though, most of the people who live in the States know nothing about Canada either. It wouldn't surprise me if some people there think we live in igloos, and get around by dog sled.

Collectively, I think that the general population of US and Canada don't know much about the Danish and Nordic countries. In the Canadian school curriculum, French is mandatory for grades 4-9, while no Nordic languages are offered (at least not in Ontario).

Just kidding. I know that all your igloos were trampled last week by a herd of moose.

Unfortunately, this is true for most of us. But if you name a bad TV show, chances are the average American could sing you the theme song.

I love my country but not always the people living here.
