Portugese Domination through Colonization, an AoI story

Yeh, steam is usually the first tech you should research in AoI

damn you steam!!!!!

Also he doesn't mean tech steam he means... well you know...

the year 1901 ended with a few naval battles, most of which favoured Portugal, the Lowland's generals (both Dutch and Belgians) informed their troops that "last year's victories for Portugal will be reversed"! They were so wrong.

1902
week 1-Stanleyville [the last city of the Belgian (soon to be Portuguese:)) Congo] was bombarded and cavalry tried t take the city, they were repelled, but reinforcements were on the way

but only 4 weeks later the city would be taken, permenantly ending Belgian sovereignty over the Congo

King Leopold decided that he would make a speech to boost the morale over his losing armies
"O, great Dutch and Belgian soldiers, we have lost Africa, but not all is lost, the Portuguese have tried hard and failed to capture any Carribean or Indonesian territory, in fact we have captured Guns and supplies from the retreating Armies! We will take back the Congo, and not just that, we will conquer Angola. Remember, we outnumber them on all fronts except for Africa, where we were caught off guard. We will win!"

this speech did little to bolster the courage of his troops, especially the Belgians who have lost all their overseas lands.

week 9- Many Lowland ships were destroyed in the Atlantic, their numerical supperiority was giving away to clever tacics used by the Portuguese.

in week 13 Portuguese troops attack Manado, surpising the Dutch, as they expected another attack on Malang, as before.
but the attack was unsuccessful, even though it killed many Dutch defenders.

not much happened in the next 8 weeks, except a naval confrontation resuling in many dead on both sides.

In week 25 the Belgians made a desperate assault on Porto, which was poorly coordinated, and as a result failed. It was one of the first battles in which Macchine gans were used.

Manado was taken with little resistance, because of reinforcements from Portuguese China.

a Tibetan spy attempted to plant itself in Lisbon, he was given a public execution. Needless to say, Portuguese spies met a similar fate by their Lowland enemies.

in week 41 the Lowlands start producing tons of Ships, but the Sailors refuse to fight the Portuguese..
around the same time Samarinda in Dutch Indonesia was taken.

week 45- A german spy suffers the same fate as the Tibetan.
Many troops die trying to take Willemstad- the symbol of Dutch resistance in the Carribean.

but 4 weeks later the city fell with light casualties.

but now the Portuguese face a new challenge, war weariness, especially outside of Europe; however, the mobs were quickly entertained, so they forgot.

I told you I din't forget :)
also, my computer is having a problem with posting attachments, but I have taken some screenshots.

@ those reading this:
should I make peace with the Lowlands soon, or should I try to take the rest of their colonies.

Howitzers. They make everything easier.
