Possible Future Direction (personal view)

https://sourceforge.net/projects/c2cgamedev/

Still setting it up. I have koshling, strategyonly, ls612 and mrazure already registered with the project seeing as their usernames came up in koshling's C2C sourceforge svn. You should pm me here your sourceforge username so I can add you to the project.

BTW if yall didn't know, Budz42 is my widely-used alias. Reason I don't use it here is because the name Civ Fuehrer outdates it.

At the bar now so I'm not going to be too detailed.

Anyways I would be up for this. A design document needs to be done first. Discussion is great but it needs a focus if it has any possibility of going anywhere.

If this happens I will have little to no help in programming from scratch. I would be capable of doing modeling for sure though...

Excellent. As I said earlier, just need a pm with your sourceforge name and I'll add you to the project register.

As for a design document, the layout is in the works and will be up either tomorrow or friday.

Everyone registered in the project (currently Koshling, SO, HX, DRJ, ls, TBD, DH and MrAzure) can currently head over to the sourceforge project page and make a thread for discussion.

The public thread is available to anyone to read, but must be logged in to SF to post. The private thread is available to anyone registered with the project.

Love what you're doing here. I'm all in support of moving things forward.
Anything I can do to help, please let me know - I have a good bit more entrepreneurial experience than most people have. Almost started a roleplaying game company in 1994.

I'm still around and will be showing, to the best of my ability, that I'm involved.

One word of caution, before we start transition C2C to a new project,
I think you should do your best to slowly transition between the two so that the momentum of C2C can be transferred, instead of jumped.
This way the momentum and community can easily follow the shift between.

Setting up a new engine is a process, and you can go back and forth between C2C and C2C2 as comfortable and shift between both as it makes sense. Work on one when you need a break from the other.
It is great to have a working model C2C to simultaneously experiment with, while you are creating the new foundation.
I would also love to see the Galactic Era come to fruition if possible, before C2C ceases to grow.

I'm all for seeing C2C evolve and grow. Don't limit yourselves if you can help it.
Free your ability to create, and create with others. Let the ideas breed even better ones.
Focus on the dream of what you all want C2C-2 to be. You are the Dream Team.

So ideally what would everything like C2C -2 to become? Asking everyone!!

I'd like to see more of the people who have contributed to this thread let us know what they think.
I would like to see Koshling and AiAndy work their original vision for C2C together with IONTOM, LS612, 3335d, Laskaris, PrimOver, and others vision for what C2C-2 could be.
This way we can have a vision we can all mostly agree with.
Can you all invite some of the other guys to share their thoughts?

So let's play idea king of the hill. What idea would you think is best for a new C2C?
I'd love to know if you can tell us a good one.

Getting a big Forbidden sign...

Yes, same problem TB described here.
If I go into my sourceforge profile I see I got granted rights for c2cgamedev in my projects, but I can't access it.
Also, I don't see a public thread if I am not logged in.
Just "A 403 Error has occured" and a big exclamation mark. :(

@TBD that's gotta be a sourceforge bug or something. I have you, alias Thunderbrd, UN thunderbrd as privilege group Developer. You're going to have to speak with one of the moderators about that. https://sourceforge.net/p/forge/site-support/new/

@DRJ Same with you, but I myself have the problem that when I'm not logged in, I get a 404 error on the project site. It's just when you're logged in things are supposed to go smoothly.

I sent a ticket about the 403 error.

When i said "I can't see the public thread even when I am not logged in" I didn't mean I could see it when I am logged in - still only "! Forbidden" - but that I should see it if I am not logged in, right?

Are you sure maybe didn't set a tiny security option wrong somewhere down the line?

Anyone here not having a problem TB and I face when trying to access the site?

I have the same issue, I see Forbidden

Can you guys pls delete my name from the e-mail stuff you guys are doing, i never use e-mail, and its bogging my stuff up, thx.

Are you serious? I have the email options turned off. Something's fishy here. I can take your name off the permissions, but that'll remove you from viewing what's being discussed on the forums there.

EDIT: Well I bumped up some permissions. See if that helps.

Or try this link

Yeah the new link works. Thx! Continueing over there

@DRJ Good to know!

@SO I took you off the registry per your request. Let me know when you want to join us over there.
