You have the wrong idea here, they cant make things OF, CFC or Firaxis, only lookalikes and close to, then some has to be approved by copyright laws and Firaxis because they are close. I believe, i might be wrong
Once you put something on CFC it belongs to them, and they have the rights after that. Thats why they had a big augment awhile back, they didnt want to loose a valued person doing stuff for them..
Pls no arguments on what i just wrote, i am just making a personal statement.

Yeah nothing from CFC or Firaxis can be used. Everything has to be handmade even the xml schema because they used a Xml Genie to make it. Firaxis is owned by Ea Games and they are not friendly. Once something becomes commercial you need professional standards, 100 percent own assets, (can't use Wikipedia for pedia text), buy images unless u make them yourself, and especially have to do your own C++ coding source code. It going to be years at least to have a Beta version.



The reason c2c is great is because its an open source project made by the community.

If this is so, I don't mind removing all works from CFC too.

As modders, we spend hours or days making stuff for others to enjoy.
If we can't even decide under what situations our works can be used, we can always find a new platform to upload them, or not upload them at all.

I don't gain anything when others download my works, so there is no loss for me to remove them either.

The discussions so far are really about rewriting things from scratch so I'm sure anything done here and translated across will come down to inspiration taken rather than any kind of direct copy or anything even close really. No worries guys. We need to differentiate ourselves from Civilization itself really so a lot of things will be reconsidered from the ground up.

Thats fine by me, let them take what they want, Thats what CFC is all about, kindness and sharing, you are taking it too literately. All they are talking about is just that, TALK.

I share stuff for free, with only one condition.
None of it is to be used for commerical reasons, whether direct copy or mere adjustments.

If uploading in CFC makes me lose this kind of simple rights, then I definitely disagree with the T&C of the database.
