So, I'm trying to make a general self help thread and get some questions answered.
Many people have had Oos errors, and I've read a hundred different fixes on a hundred forums.
Recently my friends and I were playing FFH2, patch J, and we had vicious Oos errors.
(BTS 3.19, patch J, large map, 3 players, 7 bots)
I read that these cause them:
Different game files/corruptions,
The AI sometimes cause them apparently
Random events,
Hyperion taking cities.
Units attacking from boats,
Meanwhile I heard many ways of fixing them,..
including downloading some unofficial patches, - who's links were all dead.
Deleting your game cache - did that, oos returned.
Sending eachother that exact game copy - did it... no help there
Last and most interesting, I read that Patch D had absolutely no OOS errors.
I wanted to try this, but the two links I found for patch D were dead... so if someone was patch D, I would apprentice using it to test.
Also, if you have any other methods for fixing OOS, please share, and hopefully we can Mass all possible fixes here.
Now not to blame Keal's masterpiece, as it seems Civ is coded to have oos in all aspects, but I;m really interesting in test the patch D theory. cause I used to have it and i didn't have oos back then.... theory must be tested!
