So basically you're telling us that poly and cdg aren't entertaining?

Actually your first arguement is completely wrong as the post count was hidden for awhile, can you guess why it came back?
On your first point, I don't feel that spam is a rampant problem in the first place on this site. The mods do a very good job in controlling spam, and while there are incidents as there was a couple of days ago in OT those are fairly rare overall. And the demogame posts are generally fairly useful, or at least less spammy than a larger percentage of OT posts I see. Also, why aren't you worried about post count from the chess forum or from OT? And if you're so worried about demogame posts counting, perhaps you really are concerned about post counts anyway, and you would rather they be hidden to eliminate that concern. Maybe you even feel "inferior" for some reason to people with really high post counts, though you'd probably never admit it. And on your chatroom point, I wouldn't care if they did that as long as they had a practical way of doing it.Originally posted by WildFire
And no matter what anyone says on this site, the majority of people SPAM LIKE CRAZY, just to have a high post count. Have the demogame posts count? Thats about 90% spam, especially with the pointless RPG.
I have an idea! How about the chat room counts as posts! Add 27,000+ to CT and over 9000+ posts to me! If posts don't matter, than you guys wouldn't care would you?

I've only been here a year. I did not know it was hidden.

I don't personally think post count is all that relevant. Take DaveMcw for instance. I don't think he's got even 1000, but he's one of the most knowledged players of Civ3.
BTW, I suggested to the mods they move this to Site Feedback.
It only makes sense, sort of. Only posters who'd been here awhile would take an active interest in what's happening with the site. A busy Site Feedback is a good sign, I think (so long as it's not always about complaints... ).Originally posted by Wizard
Why is it so, that everyone (almost) posting here in the Site Feedback have a fairly high postcount?![]()

Post count number is just like any other - it can be edited. It can be changed from 100 to 2,000 - and it can be changed from 10,000 down to 17.
Why someone would care about a number that is (potentially) so easily changed, has always demonstrated to me - who has a life, and who doesn't.
The only numbers on a computer screen I ever tend to seriously care about, are the ones that are depicted when I'm doing my finances. Those numbers actually mean something - whereas post counts mean absolutely nothing - except that you are here too much.
I respect people with low post counts more than high ones.
There is enough spam out there already.
