Well, I haven't done a lot with mine lately, but I think I'll give it another go. Shoudn't be much longer now. To be honest, I cheated a bit by using the SmartMap map script to generate a base earth map and am simply editing the terrain and resources, so it's not like I made it from scratch.

The closest thing you can find, are maps of greece and a bit of the surrounding area (here and here).
Or maybe try this mediterranean map.

I was planning to do an mid 14th century scenario. At a time when the Ottomans controlled all of Anatolia but didn't conquer the Balkans yet.

Then none of the maps posted previously are of use to you.

Ideally, you need one that stretches from South-East HRE (present-day Austria basically) to the Crimean Peninsula (or maybe a bit shorter). And then goes far south enough to reach Crete. You certainly don't want one that has most, if not all, of Anatolia as it'll be too easy for the Ottomans (realistic, but no fun).

I don't think such a map exists so creating your own is the best option.

You're right, I was playing with the idea of creating a map for some time. Well I try making one.

I am requesting a map for the "Silk Road" region, which encompasses most of Central Asia, the Middle East, and China, as well as parts of India, Egypt, Russia, and a little bit of the Balkans. I have loooked at the maps in the downloads, and they either were too broad or too narrow for my purposes.

I have attached a map below for any that are interested.

I suppose you could just take a huge earth map and fill in the ocean with land and vice versa

Could you make a map of T.A Barron's Fincayra? Town of the bards, teilean and garlatha, home of cairpre, ruins of varigal, and slantos are goody huts. all hills and mountains are hills all green terrian is grassland and rusted plains are (of course, plains). Haunted Marsh becomes a lake, some terrain appropriate resources (plains and grasslands have wheat, corn, cow ect) hills have ores (iron, copper ect) ocean (fish crabs ect) i would prefer a flat map with standard size no xy make it for warlords, and the rivers where they are on the map, and here is the link: http://www.tabarron.com/files/images/map_lym_lg.jpg good luck

I do not know if this will make you feel at all better, I have the exact same wish. And I plan to make a great map out of the idea... Not very promising from a single-post newbie, but who knows? I hope I get something out of it. What's the best way to create the inverted world template? A photoshopped image or an already existing Earth map?

I would like a Large Earth with 18 Civs of the Antiquity around the world, only starting positions, accurate if possible, renaming accepted, at 100 AD, with 3 starts cities each...

No balancing needed, just relative army force...

Is it possible ?
