Im working as a postman until february. When drinking with my colleges, I heard of the different uniforms they used over the ages, and we began wondering how our colleges in other countries dress.
So please post a picture that shows how your postmen dress. Here's the Danish ones:

There are some days when the mail is nothing but advertisements and credit card offers.

Actually, that's most days.

Anyway, the Danish mailmen during the winter look a bit like Santa Claus.

As Deutsche Post still has the monopoly...
The loss of the monopoly for packages actually is one of the most awful developments that happened in the last years. I hate Hermes, UPS and all the other crappy firms. It's always a drama when they want to deliver a package and you're not at home. The DP at least has enough offices...

The era of cool uniforms ended in 1945. :D

This is how most of them look in America:

This was the only picture I could find so far. Note that Canadian postal workers are less likely to friendly, hard-working and sober than the picture suggests.

EDIT: Found one. This one must have been drunk:

Typical Swedish brevbärare.

Wicked, do you think that Onkel Kånkel had this guy in mind when they made the song Helmer Tampongförtäraren?

The whole privatization was a horrible thing...

I think it's hard to tell what Kånkel had in mind at any given time, but it's a fairly good guess I assume. :)

Yeah, "privatisering" and liberalism does not belong in public services. Though it earns more money, it ruins the service that it offers, it ruins the people doing the job, and it ruins the populations trust in the service.
