Pre-ChuckNES: Discussion Thread

Before
Culture Name: Darali
Culture Economics: Hunter-Gather culture with raids on rival tribes also being common. Crafted goods are becoming more common with weapons and tools being the most common, also works of jewellery made from amber are becoming common. Farming and herding are just begining to take hold.
Culture Beliefs: The Darali belive that everything in nature has at least a minor spirit attachted to it. More major things such as large forests or big river have more powerful spirit attachted to it. Some more abstact concepts are begining to gain spirits and some less important things in nature are begining to lose them. The Darali still worship nature as before but they now also worship War, Death and Life. Furneral rituals are becoming more inportant as are the rites of passage as more and more warriors die in their many wars. (the rites of passage are meant to prepare a person for their future role in the tribe as craftsmen, warriors or shamans.
Culture Social Ladder: Slaves are at the bottom and if you are one there is no way to advance. Next is tribesmen and women who consisit of anyone in the tribe who has yet to progress to a higher level. After that there are craftsmen. Then the chain splinters into two one for shamans and one for combatants in the tribe.

Combantant chain
Hunters--->Warriors--->Raid warriors--->Lower Chiefs--->High Chief. Note anyone in the chain could become a High Chief but the higher up you are the easier it is.

Shamans
Spirits' Mouthpieces--->Shamams--->High Shamans--->Great Shaman

Description.

The Darali are a small tribe on the boarder with France and Germany. They are good warriors and for this reason, and the fact that they like to take slaves, they are not well liked by nearby tribes.

A larger area increased by war and peacful expansion area on the modern France Germany boarder.

After

Culture Name: Darali
Culture Economics: Hunter-Gather culture with raids on rival tribes also being common. Crafted goods are becoming more common with weapons and tools being the most common, also works of jewellery made from amber are becoming common. Farming and herding are now widespread. Metal working is now being looked at as well as better ways of making tools of any kind including war.

Culture Beliefs: The Darali belive that everything in nature has at least a minor spirit attachted to it. More major things such as large forests or big river have more powerful spirit attachted to it. Culture Social Ladder: Slaves are at the bottom and if you are one there is no way to advance. Next is tribesmen and women who consisit of anyone in the tribe who has yet to progress to a higher level. After that there are craftsmen. Then there is a type of craftsmen called war craftsmen (guess what they make). Then the chain splinters into two one for shamans and one for combatants in the tribe.

Priorities

1. Develop metal crafting and/or better ways of making existing tools.
2. Continue to expand and raid weak tribes.
3. Begin to develop boats and sailing techinques.

Good orders everyone. Still expecting more player. However, I can't update due to busted left fingers so please do do names for other cultures and more stories!!!

Also, Tribes and Chiefdoms can be seperate. But only in Priorities. EX in Darali in Britan focus more on surviving and sailing for reenforcements.

This turn will be until 3000 B.C. Start of bronze age and civilization. After that it is until 1500: the Great Wars OTL and then to 1000 B.C. to First Great Empires. Then a NES! Enjoy while I recuperate and surprise you with a better update!

Also, blank areas are either no named cultures or not interested: NEED MORE PLAYERS!

Map will be worked on and update worked on now!

Sorry, up until now my left ring finger is bothering me, now I came back and no more stories! Please tell me how to make single links and I will update the legends but now, I want at least 1 more legend for the future: pretty please?

Joining!

Alright I'm gonna be Talxical: Mexico
Renamed to Balthar

Culture Name: Balthar

Culture Economics: Excellent hunters beginning to grow food, mainly corn. Slave raids on neighboring tribes are common, and slaves do most manual labor and agriculture.

Culture Beliefs: All things important to life are controlled by gods, and/or spirits. The more important things need human sacrifices to work, while less important need animal or plant sacrifice. Important: Sun, Rain. Less Important: Anything else.

Culture Social Ladder:
Slaves ---> Non-slave Farmers ---> Craftsmen ---> Hunters ---> Low Priests ---> Warriors ---> High Priests ---> god-Emperor

Description: The Balthar are a small tribe on the Yucatan Peninsula. They take many slaves and are disliked by many other tribes for it, but are more powerful than the closest tribes to them. They also believe in human sacrifice and it is a spectacle for the whole population performed by the high priests.

Priorities:
1. Create Metal Weapons.
2. Expand and Gain Slaves.
3. Develop the Wheel and Carts.

Yes!

I finished Map 2a but now I need to do 2b. Thanks for joining! Also, because it is just in the Yucatan I will make it a powerful seperate splinter tribe. Happy raiding! :)

Ok, guys, somehow you all froze up. I will say my problems here and then post useless preview map.

Lord Joakim, no planned expansion or anything else?

Neverwonagam3: I said that agriculture so i assume you mean advanced agriculture. If not, please tell me.

Spoiler Update 2a :
update2akf5.gif

I am working on Update Map 2b and I need/want more legends to give me ideas. Right now i just want to say: Expanded, united, most advanced, warring tribes: done. But it is my duty as a NESer and a MOD to giv you nice updates: however, I wonder if these updates if they are any good at tall, are worth it...

Finally, The last update should have been 10000 to 4000 so this one will be 4000-2000. Last one will be one thousand years.

Sorry Charles but most of my time on these forums is spent getting all the rules up for my own Nes and an update Zero with almost player interaction to go. I will try and post a story once my own Nes is up and running.

Great Flood
Servih Legend

Long ago, when humans first came, all of them are part evil. As the gods watched them live by the great freshwater late they are shocked. Together, they worked together to kill them all. However, one, Unilv, called to the least evil family of all, of the Garsivs, he told them they have to build a ark at least 2 acres and hold some of all animals of the world. As the gods aided to ocean to invade the lake they finished the dead and carried all the animals in. Then, the lake swelled from the influx of salt water. Trees are pushed down and mountains crushed. As the ark rose Garsives sent a dove. It came back after finding no place to land. Later, he sent a pigeon, but he came back again. Finally, he sent a Raven, it went for three days before returning with beautiful tail feathers and a olive leaf. He turned his head toward the southwest and Garsives sent his boat there. When they landed they prayed to be spared. They are, but a single Diety's revenge turned ice upon the land. The Diety is plunged into brime fire and reduced to an immortal... but that took hundreds of years before the age thawed out. To this day, we worship Unilv to the greatest god of them all.

(Still bored... Is this how a MOD feels after an update but with only a few, pretty good stories and no more ideas for the next one.)

Sorry about that - orders state that I will expand eastwards. Split the nation into two.

One last thing: It is a group of tribes. Your tribes and their tribes in different cultures... OK, will do update map 2b...

Balthar Legend:

Long ago, when the world was just formed, there lived a race of super-beings that the Balthar call the Old Ones. The Old Ones created all of the creatures on the land, in the sea, and in the air. The Old Ones also made the Balthar, and the Balthar were the most prized of their creations.

Then, the Dark Times came and the Old Ones were attacked by the evil super-beings that were also formed with the Old Ones. These evil beings are called the Dark Ones by the Balthar. The Dark Ones fought the Old Ones for control of the world, and there were enormous floods, and the skies were dark for long weeks on end. The earth shook and cracked under the power of the two groups of beings fighting.

The Old Ones were almost beaten by the Dark Ones, but when things seemed most bleak, the Old Ones trapped the Dark Ones in tall mountains, and then trapped themselves with the Dark Ones in those mountains to wrestle with them for all eternity, and the Balthar say that whenever a mountain erupts hot liquid rocks, a Dark One is trying to free itself.

Actually, I thought Palestine didn't have agriculture. Can I change my orders?

Priority 1: The tactical use of professional archers in warfare
Priority 2: The creation of a system by leaders outside the Shamanite area of primary influence looking for justification for wars of seizures of power send messangers to the Great Shaman applying for such (and the Shaman using this to political advantage)

An for my next trick you will do it in your signature as well!

EXTRA HINT

It is worth noting the Tabrian War was meant to be a conventional story (in the NES sense), not a legend.

Oh, then I will change it later. However, they are used in the future in sayings in stories, i.e. 'By the name of the old ones!' ECT.
