Pre-ChuckNES: Discussion Thread

I was talking about the NPC thing more than the number of cultures.

I would happily join in Europe if that is alright. I will post a template when I get the go ahead, if I cannot join in Europe I may join as a desert culture in Egypt.

Please! Anywhere you like! This is my timeline.

'First Villages' Ice Age to about 6000 B.C.
'First Herderrs/Towns' 6000 B.C. to about 4000 B.C.
'First Civilization' 4000 B.C. to about 2500 B.C.
'First Empires' 2500 B.C. to about 1500 B.C.

We might start there. Or...

1500 B.C. to about 1200 B.C.
1200 B.C. to 1000 B.C.
1000 B.C. to 800 B.C.

of course, I will use better names. Please join!

A couple of quick questions:

1. Do we PM orders?

2. What do you mean by changes?

You post orders so everyone else can consider it in, then of course I will decide above else what happens. This is a sample order.

Before
Sampleculture: NPC
Economics: Trade and fish
Culture Beliefs: Gods of greed and River
Culture Social Ladder: Slave -> Crafter-> fisher/trader ->king
Description: trader city states in mesopotamia. Slave armies

After

Sampleculture: NPC
Economics: Trade, fish, war
Culture Beliefs: Gods of Greed, River, and War.
Culture Social Ladder: Slave -> Crafter-> fisher/trader/Mercanaries -> God king
Description: Trader City states in Mesopotamia. Slave armies and Mercanaries

After the Asendence of Hisgonith to the throne of the city state of Anystate. he begun profiting from training a professional army and sending them off to fight for others for a heap of cash. After many sucessful war he tried to unify the land but was defeated. however, he is known to be drunk, a crime, before this defeat. So all kings decried themselves as kings and the best moral behavior in the lands. They trained their own mercanaries to be sent to other lands.

Then, someone else near them can say of a civil war that was won by mercanaries.

Anyone can change orders anythine they want.

Do we post orders yet?

Go ahead. Rename close cultures from the NPC list. Change orders based on other orders. This turn is until 6000 B.C. The first herders are still connected to the first agricultural villages. Some other peoples still roam the lands freely or settle in temporally settlements. Cultures now are what they are firstly. You can tell them to immigrate: or anything you want! In this first turn. Will they build monuments of ivory in every village? Will war? I will write names on the maps after I'm back. Remember, freely rename cultures (they are based on OTL styles) or take over AND rename them. I will be back on the 27th so you can make deals on immigration/migrations with other players. Have fun!

Small area on the modern France Germany boarder.

After

Culture Name: Darali
Culture Economics: Hunter-Gather culture with raids on rival tribes also being common. Crafted goods are becoming more common with weapons and tools being the most common, also works of jewellery made from amber are becoming common. Farming and herding are just begining to take hold.
Culture Beliefs: The Darali belive that everything in nature has at least a minor spirit attachted to it. More major things such as large forests or big river have more powerful spirit attachted to it. Some more abstact concepts are begining to gain spirits and some less important things in nature are begining to lose them. The Darali still worship nature as before but they now also worship War, Death and Life. Furneral rituals are becoming more inportant as are the rites of passage as more and more warriors die in their many wars. (the rites of passage are meant to prepare a person for their future role in the tribe as craftsmen, warriors or shamans.
Culture Social Ladder: Slaves are at the bottom and if you are one there is no way to advance. Next is tribesmen and women who consisit of anyone in the tribe who has yet to progress to a higher level. After that there are craftsmen. Then the chain splinters into two one for shamans and one for combatants in the tribe.

Combantant chain
Hunters--->Warriors--->Raid warriors--->Lower Chiefs--->High Chief. Note anyone in the chain could become a High Chief but the higher up you are the easier it is.

Shamans
Spirits' Mouthpieces--->Shamams--->High Shamans--->Great Shaman

Description.

The Darali are a small tribe on the boarder with France and Germany. They are good warriors and for this reason, and the fact that they like to take slaves, they are not well liked by nearby tribes.

A larger area increased by war and peacful expansion area on the modern France Germany boarder.

Priorties

War with weaker neignbours.
Improving herding and farming techniques to reduce preasure on hunters and gathers.
Begining to untite the tribes under one leader into one nation.

Perfect!

One last thing before I go into stasis; name the NPC cultures near you. And realize it is a culture, so a few powerful chiefdoms and a much larger spread area of tribes will be the result. Also: The culture is what is it like at 10,000 B.C. The after is what it will be at 6,000 B.C. I will assume you have basic crafting but the update after this one is the start of towns, larger wars and metal crafting. Thanks a lot!

Can we create new nations? If so, I will do that. Otherwise, let me take any NPC nation in India.

Culture Name: Bugundo
Player: lord_joakim
Culture Economics: Hunting, fishing, spice growing.
Culture Beliefs: Believe in spirits in everything, similar to what most others believed in at the time.
Culture Social Ladder: From bottom to top: Beggars-thieves-etc, hunters-fishermen, spice growers, Pagan priests, chiefs.
Description: Pretty much hunters and spice harvesters, who live in a loose society under a chief.
Region in southwest India.

Culture Economics: Tribes have their own stockpiles- they share significantly, but not everybody cooperates.
Culture Beliefs: Believe in lesser sprits as guardians of each tribe, and a set of Great Sprits who are far more powerful.
Culture Social Ladder: Everybody pays lip service to the Great Shaman, representative of the Great Spirits. Each tribe is ruled in practice by an informal (doesn't exist in theory) leader who gives orders, and is obeyed because they usually result in good results. The Great Shaman is himself a powerful leader, and by far the strongest single one (if nowhere near as strong as he is in theory)
Description: Occupy the region nowadays known as Palestine (enough description put into the rest of it).

Population pressures will lead to migration towards the area of the northern Euphrates of a portion of the Chunherra tribes. Meanwhile, the Great Shaman begins attempting to extend his power by travelling around as large an area as he can and appointing representatives to lead tribes in his name.

Can't we just do it like daft's.. that works without any clutter

I do, but this will eventually go into a Advance Start NES: So I will post a preview map soon and then update.

Mmmmm, on second thought, I think I won't do this one. My time just got crunched so I have to quit this.
