I can remeber varients of this routine from before the internet. It has a very different feel when done live. The audience gets hot quicker. What was really funny then was that the highschoolers listening to it figured out it was a parody before the colledge students did.

1.) Get used to it; we really don't disagree on much, and it is good for your health and well being to agree with one.

That thread was probably the funniest I have ever read. Kudos to the mod who moved it to the humor and jokes forum instead of just locking it. That was, I think, the best possible response. Plus, it was amusing in its own right seeing the whole thing get treated as a joke (I think it probably actually was one, but you never know)

Part of the this genre of parody routine is that you never give up the charactor facade or admit that it was a joke.

As a true Fascist I must say I should have been closed at page one, and he should have been imprisoned, tortured, and other bad things...

But since that probably won't catch on, I think he ought to be banned permanently, we can see on his OT posts, that he has no intention of stopping this joke and/or leaving the forum. Therefore we should either agree to ignore him, send our own Bible quoters at him to give him a challenge, or ban him. The Bible quoters option would be amusing, but not realistic. Neither is the ignoring option.

But I do like Lefty's handling of him! I didn't know moderators had humor... (please don't ban me, mods )

Furthermore I believe the first DF thread should be made sticky, to serve an example of trolling and how not to behave!

IMHO, while its parody nature became soon apparant, it was still an offensive troll and unbecoming to CivFanatics.

Moving it to Humor and Jokes was a reasonable response. I pointed out in a post in that thread that the best response to someone like this is laughter.

What I thought was most amusing was all the people who took him seriously. Especially people like Insurgent wondering why the real Christians on the here didn't take him on. Because we don't fall for that sort of thing. What were you people thinking of spending fourteen pages asking this guy serious questions?

Having said that, he is extremely offensive and shouldn't be allowed back on - his sort never learn, and will only take up valuable server space.
