I'm going to have to ask for a skip. I'm finishing up my CotM and I'm booked til the end of the month. Perhaps a swap with someone?

I'll take it now, then eldar, then back to you if that gives you enough time.

Thanx for asking for the skip / swap Dbear, I love it when the warmongering turns are left for me :D

Pre-Flight:

Lisbon is now a 4 turn settler factory, too bad we dont need many settlers, change production from horse to settler

Sagres is a 2 turn worker factory waiting to happen

Trades: Phil & CoL to America for Poly & 25 g; Phil to Spain for 69 g; Phil to Celts for 50 g

Research Lit @ 40%: 15 turns, -7 gpt

i - Celts demand CoL - we cave, not in my plans to war with Celts at this time, i have another plan & dont want to be distracted

1 - 1375 BC: Trespass Phil borders, they have a spear in there; archer destroys barb camp; settle Leiria (curragh, not a definite build), Evora (worker); start roading to get iron hooked up, move warirors from Lisbon to Guimaraes to get closer to border; rush horse in Guimaraes; rush barracks in Emerita; rush workers in Oporta & Sagres; economy improved Lit 13 turns +3 gpt @ 40% so adjust to 60%: 8 turns, -7 gpt

i - Guimares - horse - horse, Emerita - barracks - horse, Oporto - worker - barracks, Sagres - worker - worker

2 - 1350 BC: buy 2 workers from Germany for philosphy;

i - Lisbon - settler - settler

3 - 1325 BC - trade Rep to Celts for MM; gift rep to America; build embassy America & Celts; declare war on America, move 2 archers to mountains in Philly, horse just outside Philly borders; adjust science slider back to 40%: 9 turns, -5 gpt

- i - lose scout to barb horse over by vikings

4 - 1300 BC - Archer loses to spear, archer def spear, destroying Philly & capturing 2 workers & 1 settler for a total of 4 slaves; sell CoL to Spain for worker & 4 G; adjust slider to 50% sci: 6 turns, -9 gpt; Emerita - change productio from horse to warrior (iron hooked up in 2 turns, warrior built in 1 turn then upgraded); rush worker in Coimbra

- Emerita - warrior - horse; Coimbra - worker - worker

5 - 1275 BC - rush barracks in Lagos; adjust sci to 40%

-Lagos - barracks - horse

6 - 1250 BC - Braga founded - warrior; adjust sci to 50%: Lit 4 turns, -6 gpt

Lisbon - settler - settler; our people want to build FP; America comes out of anarchy & completes Colossus

7 - 1225 BC - Horse kills spear & captures New York along with 2 slaves, slaves place opposite river on road beside conscript American warrior, archers next to slaves; upgrade 3 warriors to swords

i - american conscript warrior captures workers & moves them away to mountains via roads; NY starves, resistance ends; use specialists again in NY to starve one more time

8 - 1200 BC - archer kills conscript warrior, horse recaptures workers; workers moved outside Atlanta as bait, scout has been moving around 2 American warriors in Mountains north of America as bait, somewhat successful

- Lit discovered - Currency

9 - 1175 BC - change prodcution in Braga to cat, cant afford to upgrade another warrior anyway since I have spent nearly 550 G on rushes, 2 embassies, upgrades, & deficit research; change production in Leira to cat; move slider to 40% sci: currency 15 turns, +3 gpt, we can't afford deficit research any longer

America still wont give a city for peace

Spain has construction, but requires rep, lit, & poly / mm for it, wait on trade

- Guimaraes & Emerita - horses - horses; America building Oracle (what a stupid move)

10 - 1150 BC - archer kills warrior in Atlanta, workers still used as bait there (there are at least 4 more warriors around that city, at least one defending; Faro founded on former site of Philly (I believe this is the site of our future capitol) start building barracks

-Lisbon - settler - settler; Leiria - cat - worker; Evora - worker - cat; a couple forest cuts aid horse production

11 - 1125 BC - Archer & Horse kill 2 warriors & capture Atlanta, horse promotes to elite

-Sagres - worker - worker; Americans send settler / spear combo between Wash & NY (another stupid move)

12 - 1100 BC - trade Spain Rep, Poly, Lit for Constr + 33 G; advance upon Wash

i - Lagos - horse - horse

13 - 1075 BC -

i - Emerita - horse - horse

14 - 1050 BC - 2 Swords kill 2 spears & capture Wash; Celts may cause trouble, warriors advancing, but 1 escorting settler, may be just after ivory & barb camp in north; w/ additin of wines lower lux rate to 10%, increase sci to 50%

-Lisbon - settler - settler; Leiria - worker - galley, Coimbra - worker - worker

15 - 1025 BC - horse w/draws from spear, horse def spear & captures Boston& 1 slave, thought about razing, there is an American warrior outside the city & a barb horse, but worse case we lose a horse & Boston is destroyed, best case, horse wins & promotes to elite & we keep Boston, the reward outweighs the risk, IMHO; change production in Brag from cat to galley

- decision to keep Boston pays off, stupid Americans attack & kill barb horse so we get attacked by neither; Guimares - horse - horse, Sagres - worker - granary; America begs for peace, I laugh at them

16 - archer kills spear, destroys Chicago & the Americans

the only moves I made last turn was the Archer & to wake up a horse so that next player would be aware of its location would have stopped at turn 15, but after all the work and having 2 archers outside the last American city which I knew was defended only by 1 spear, I couldn't let it pass.

I think the celts are just passing through, they could have attacked NY last turn when it was empty with the horse outside, but they didnt. Most likely the one warrior is just escorting that spear somewhere and who knows what plans the other warriors have, but i would take care of those warriors before starting war with Celts, they could be pesky. Our units are scattered after the end of the Portuguese-American War, so they will need to be regrouped. But if war with the Celts is immediately desired it shouldn't take but a couple turns to get everything together.

prolly barb camp north of Boston

FP needs built & so does SoZ, my warmongering distracted me from both. Some builds prolly need changed since towards the end of the turnset I just picked something not sure what direction the next player would want to go.

I spent 550 gold this turn set, but don't look at it as expenses, look at it as an investment in America, although I am not sure the Americans would see it that way.

I must thank eldar :goodjob: for making the trades (which I opposed) that allowed me to have the gold for the rushes & upgrades which made this war possible, & Mathias also for switching to rep immediately so I could cash-rush.

1) DBear - swapped (skip until 6/1 or further notice)
2) Predesad - just finished
3) Eldar - UP
4) Mach - on deck
5) Mathias -

Mach - for clarification, if Eldar finishes his turns before the first and Dbear does not post available, then go after Eldar

Yeah, I'm back. Thanx guys. :relief:

okay, so everyone knows where we are at in the turn order here is the lineup right now for the current rotation:

1) Predesad - just finished
2) Eldar - UP
3) DBear - swapped / on deck
4) Mach -
5) Mathias -

then next round we will plan to go back to the original rotation, but i will always be flexible with swaps

Little to report, other than that we're in the Middle Ages along with Spain - who completed the Oracle at some point.
Spared the wrath of the barbarians though.

0 1000 Little to change, just one American city loses a specialist and gets growing. Shift the remaining units around.

1 975 Found Rio Janeiro, disbanding the Barbs.

3 925 IT: Currency learned, we enter the Middle Ages. Sell Currency to Spain for 40g, Philo to Ragnar for 25g.

4 900 Just as well that barb camp was disbanded. There's a ton of barb horses in the mountains!

7 825 Don't feel confident going against Celts right now - too many loose units, even if they're just warriors. SoZ will be a waste of time, we'll be halfway to Metallurgy by the time it's ready.

10 750 A pretty dull set - preparing for war. Units are ready to go, if desired. Spain will be researching Feudalism. Hopefully Eng+Mono at monopoly rates should swing it.

750BC - Battle Plans?

Neil.

Got the save, I'll take a look at it tonight and talk over plans.

Oh, sorry about the Galley, if it does sink - finger slippage :(

0) 750BC: Wow, sucks to be Germany! Look at the start they got. We have cities threatened by culture flip. Either we build culture (nah) or kick their butts (yeah). Military advisor sez we're stronger, so let's go now. Besides, they have iron in the south of their empire, and I don't want to see their Gallics. We kill their settler pair near the lake, taking slaves. Horse and sword march on Augustodurum, Gergovia, and Lugdunum.

1) 730: Celt units in the mountains retreat. Lisbon lib-->market, they are going to riot on the next pop increase w/o it. Oporto rax-->cat. Guimaraes horse-->sword. They have issues, too. Emerita horse-->settler. Horse and archer move to guard Atlanta. Luanda founded by the lake, securing another iron. Augustodurum taken, sword goes leet. There are 8 Barb horses near Augustodurum in the mountains, though. Workers move to mine gold near Sao Paulo. Gergovia also taken, with 2 slaves. There was a settler pair just leaving. We nab them and take more slaves. Do we want to try for the lighthouse? Switch Lisbon over, I'll deal with their happiness issue somehow.

2) 710: Barbs head toward Boston, I get workers outta there. Cats pound Lugdunum, horse takes it.

3) 690: 4 barb horses show up outside Boston. Celts land settler pair at ruins near Washington. Horses move onto Alesia.

4) 670: Barb horses overrun Boston. Damn, there will go our money. Leiria galley-->cat. Celts try to take Luanda, no chance against a leet horse fortified. Leet horse attacks warrior on a mountain to try to get a leader. Horse redlined, no leader. 3 horses attack Alesia. 1 must retreat, but the second succeeds. Workers complete Lugdunum-Sagres road. Meanwhile, I have workers mine around Lisbon to speed up the Lighthouse. Upgrade a warrior to sword, figuring I'll lose the money to barbs if I don't.

5) 650: The barbs took us down to 44 from 70. Lagos lib-->sword. Emerita settler-->cat. Sagres grain-->worker. Atlanta cat-->rax. Archer fails vs. Eboracum built on the ruins I mentioned earlier. Celts have an archer on a hill outside of Alesia, two horses are redlined and retreat trying to dislodge it.

6) 630: Guimaraes sword-->sword. Sagres worker-->worker. Sword kills archer near Alesia. Horses burn down Eboracum. New York-Atlanta road is completed, as is New York-Luanda and Luanda-Boston.

7) 610: Learn invent, start feud. Move horses and cats in, we take Entremont! I hold onto it for the silks, I know flipping chance is high, but I think we can finish them off, so it's worth holding. Sword kills horse outside Alesia, goes leet.

8) 590: Scout crosses isthmus back into Spain. Upgrade another warrior to sword. Skirmishing around Alesia. Archer kills sword outside Alesia.

9) 570: Upgrade another warrior to sword.

10) 550: Celts take back Alesia with an archer. Lagos sword-->sword. Emerita treb-->horse. Coimbra sword-->settler. Evora rax-->horse. We take Alesia back. Scout was killed by barbs.

To do list: Wipe out the Celts!

sounds really good, Dbear, looks like you got your own warmongering turns after forfeiting the earlier ones to me :D

1) Predesad -
2) Eldar -
3) DBear - swapped / just finished
4) Mach - UP
5) Mathias - on deck

Where are the Mongols and the Byzantines, on this so-called "Pangaea"?!

[Edit] Forbidden Palace! We could do with one... somewhere directly west of Lisbon, we'll need to pump a city up to prep the build.

Noticed in the screenie that Luanda was set for building a spear. Feel free to change that, as I set it up before Luanda was roaded.

Alesia is built on cattle. Should we move it?

Wow, I never noticed that Alesia was built on cattle. Shoulda razed it then. Good catch.
