Predict Civ 7 features (NOT a wishlist!)

I have a theory that the five voices in the trailer are the voices of the five advisors that appeared in the older Civ games. Therefore, we will have five advisors, and they will share the burden of reading the quotes for the techs and perhaps civics. And, to give them a role beyond that of annoying tutorial, perhaps they will embody policy card slots, where you can assign them jobs that yield bonuses, and you can unlock jobs for them via Civics.

As is Random tech/civics tree...
100% agree. Heureka was a first step to steer experienced players from waltzing thru the tech tree in a generic, optimized way and I'm sure there will be features forcing you to find what's next to discover instead of already knowing it. It's also probable there'll be a need to "mature" new techs/civics before being able to make full use of them.

- not an empty map. You can still found cities, but there will be indigenous people or roaming nomads or whatever, from turn one

- neolithic roaming start. They will take up that feature from humankind. This first phase will not be long, but it will allow for more balanced starts.

- shared bonuses for civilizations. F.e. all european civs get knights or Phoenicians, vikings, polynesians and so on get a boat right from the start.

- dynamic bonuses for civilizations. There will be a system of some sort where you can change your uniques midgame. See f.e. age of empires 4 where at every era you get to chose between two options.

- overhauled diplomacy, religion and trade, but still leaders, district, the old resources and 1 unit per tile... Also: more diversity.

What I hope for:
- better AI or some sort of slow multiplayer
- a great Late Game. Please don't just focus on the start...
- related to that: amount of decisions per turn that the player has to make staying roughly (!) the same.

Well from the announcement today, the only thing we can say for SURE is that we get leaders, cities and wonders.... No great surprises there !
But they dare call it REVOLUTIONARY... Hope they understand the hype that comes with that statement ;-)

from steam page:

ABOUT THIS GAME

The award-winning strategy game franchise returns with a revolutionary new chapter. Sid Meier's Civilization® VII...
Yeah, card combat 😏

-The whole government system will get changed again, like always
-We won't have 1UPT anymore but won't have stacks of doom either. Something in between the two (support/logistics added as a concept?)
-Health/disease will return in a big way. Post global pandemic this just seems like far too relevant a topic to human civilization to not include at all.
-2050 end date will move to 2100. 2050 being just 25 years away feels far too close to the end of a game about human civilization. Doesn't feel like the future era anymore.

Mobile game playable on PC and console. Still can conquer the map in the BCs. Forced diversity inclusion in leaders. European nations masquerading as civilisations. Patch to fix critical bugs 48 hours after launch. 1 unit per tile will remain (essential for mobile and console). Ladder and random matchmaking.

What?

I know right?

Doesn't happen often that someone complains both about forced diversity and considers European nations to not be civilized. Usually it's one or the other.

Yeah, that sums up my thoughts pretty well.

"real" Rise & Fall of Civilizations: Barbarian tribes evolving into City States evolving into full Civilizations and Revolutions with a new leader/civilization replacing another mid-game.

Hold on! "They are not a civilisation" and "they are not civilised" are different.

Of course European nations are civilised.

My point is I make a strong distinction between a "nation" and a "civilisation", but also that a game called "Civilisations" will not emphasise this difference even in it's 7th iteration.

I will still buy it day 1.

Europa Universalis 4 has many nations. Not all of those nations are separate civilisations.

There are 27 nations in the European Union today. There are not 27 civilisations.
