Spoiler Yes! :

I did move there too. :)

A wasted seafood here and there isn't the end of the world, but two fishes at the same time!
And some starting exploration indicates that those fishes might be some of the only food sources available.

Didn't play on long though, to heartbreaking.

Oh... looky look!

But don't so nice... just say prepare to DIE like I did. ^^

Generated this while procrastinating from playing my shadow game, heh:

Roosevelt on coast means GLH, right??

Spoiler Details... :
You have room for three cities pre-Astro with one Calendar happiness resource, six seafood and iron. The fish are arranged in such as way as the guarantee one is unworkable by any city. You get 11 land tiles in total to work with. All the other AIs start on continents together. It IS only on Immortal though, so how hard can it be?

Spoiler :

Gonna give this a whirl, by my count you COULD get 4 (including the island off your coast, but it will cost you two fish and you'll settle on the calendar resource).

Been a while since someone posted a map here.
I was trying to find a new fun game to go all Keshik on someone with the geat Khan, when I stumbled upon this gem.
It's a isolation map, so no Keshik fun, sorry. :'(

100% unedited pure mapgen cruelness.

Spoiler Starting Screenshot :

Mongolians start with hunting, so this looks like a extremly strong start. Riverside PH, lots of forest... Fat porky riverside pigs.
Even the cows don't look bad as Timujin is imperialistic, so the settlers will fly out.
I can even give you the sort of cheesy spoiler that either SIP or 1E is totally fine, no seafood will be harmed!
Civ4ScreenShot0002.JPG

No Mansa in the game either, how convenient!
Civ4ScreenShot0003.JPG

Other settings..? Well, no low sea level now, so there won't be any gargantuan monsters to tackle once you meet them.
It's cold though. Coooold outside!

I have added a starting save in buffy5, with barb techs already added.
But if anyone got a taste of raging barbs from our recent Toku-game ( https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/toku-deity-raging-barbs.667095/ ) I have also added a worldbuilder save so you can add Raging barbs if you like that.

Spoiler :
Well i built TGW on T43 i think, risky as it can easily be lost at this date (60% success chance maybe?).
Masonry also gives Pyras as build, could double up and try them for either nice gold or Rep ;)
Def. best if the wall succeeds, too much production without something big like Pyras.

@Fippy
Spoiler :

Nice thinking to go masonry w/o stone! I had a very hard time figuring out how to get something useful out of all those hammers without going totally broke at the same time.
Up at T43 now, SH is not built and I was debating with myself if I should go myst to put some hammers into that (need monument for fish likely) or if writing to sink hammers into a library, or if I should go BW right away.
Aestethics path looks juicy here too, ivory, gold and marble.

You like the lovely island? :D

@Fippy

Mids and GW? Y'all are crazy...I would've used the hammers to chop out GLH, because it's not like we're gonna be able to build anything else useful anyways.

GLH more useful than Mids in isolation? Very hard to believe. Unless you mean that there is zero chance of actually getting Mids.

Spoiler T60 :

Very confusing how to think here imho. Only sensible spot for city2 seems be close to the corn, but how to get sensible techs to that...?
A non-food city to help capital with cottages? Well, it does have food, can farm the grassland. Have to place some cities w/o food alltogether here it seems.
Civ4ScreenShot0000.JPG

I ended up going AH->Agri->Fish->Pot, fish before pot for the discount, although I won't need fish for quite some time. That was probably a mistake.
Not too sure about pottery at all either, can only lay down one non-river-non-capital grassland cottage, and that aint so impressive.
Civ4ScreenShot0002.JPG

After pottery, I was in a cundundrum... everything felt wrong.
In the end, I landed in going for myst, as I got some cities that need monuments, of which I need at least 3 to failgold SoZeus later (Think aestethics is strong here). And SH wasn't built so I thought I could put some failgold hammers into SH too. After myst was in, TGW was built, so any ideas of masonry then and there I scrapped.
Still delayed BW and went for writing instead.
Civ4ScreenShot0003.JPG

Two turns and 26 failgold, well... I had hopes for more but oh well. Need to build some warriors anyway.
Civ4ScreenShot0004.JPG

That silver city was abit bold. The two warriors I had in the region both got severely injured from fights they should have won easy, so I had to leave the station I had in SW, and now they are spawning there again.
The silver city would have been better sooner if I had gold in first ring, but I wanted more natural fogbusting from it's culture once monument is done, and this way I get the second silver inside culture eventually too, and can possibly trade it away.
It doesn't even look like the grassland NE of the gold can be farmed. :|

@sampsa If there was a single crab to warrant a LH, I think I would have made a try for it. It's not as usefull, but at least it's half the price.
I have also always gotten the impression that it's good to deny the AI GLH if you can too.
See my recent Toku game where Monty got a mastodont. I find it very hard to believe he would have pulled that off w/o GLH.

Spoiler T80 update :

Even though production was high in the capital... I seemed to need it all.
I'm kind of envious of your wall @Fippy I really had to spam warriors to keep alive.
Was stuck at 2 workers for a long time, so chopping and cottaging up seemed far fetched.
I prioritized getting marble to get some failgold going and luckily ToAR haven't gone yet.
After the library in capital I went BW->Masonry, but after that I just stockpiled cash until I had marble ready which took it's sweet time on that tundra spot.
Academy with this Scientist, with abit of luck I will be running 100% for some time now.
Civ4ScreenShot0000.JPG

Not that 100% is saying much really, with almost no cottages and tiny cities.
Borders popped for the gold a few turns ago too, but I have not had the time. Up at 4 workers now, but I probably need at least 2 more to chop enough now before SoZeus and Parthenon goes.
Had severeal warriors (the lucky ones who didn't perish) at 8-9xp, and barbs looked like they stop spawning, one lone barb warrior was dancing around that hilled woody warrior of mine forever before he finally decided to make the leap.
Civ4ScreenShot0001.JPG

Built 12 warriors, thats 180 hammers! More than enough to pay for a wall. :D
Civ4ScreenShot0002.JPG

How to go from here...? I'm shooting for aestethics->litterature right away, want to build GLib in capital and probably national epic there shortly after too, don' tneed to save that for self-failgolding with so many other options available I think.

Math+Alpha and builb optics might be possible, alot of hammers available to build research with, but I'm not sure how much forest there is still available after I have gone aestethics->litterature->math.
Meditation would unlock ShawagaonPlaya, so perhaps a philo build could come into play too? Maybe through drama for speedy music too?

But probably all those fancy ideas are just overly ambitious distractions. litterature is enough and optics & astro-bulb calls.

Did you continue @Fippy ?
Anyone else trying this out?

Oh, you ignored the marble and settled on the ivory instead!
Spoiler :

I see you get a GSci before the spy, but can you get two? Happycap is pretty comfortable with ivory/gold/silver, and especially if you get a forge up.
Perhaps one can grow fish/corn city high enough, that doing a GA with caste and starve it down again could be good?
What else with the spy?

Overall plan...? I like the sense of urgency from so limited land, means all ideas of sitting comfortable are out of the window, so need to strike soon.
Jumbo-assisted cannons might be good? the UB adding 4xp means they can get really strong fast even without theo.
With theo, you can have amphibious elephants out of the gate! Attacko!
Infiltrate the spy, cause revolts and stampede in! :D

Have to stop for now, Academy question :)
Spoiler :
New GS farming started now in other cities (one more in Turfan next turn), MC 5t i think..leaves some turns again for gold gathering until a possible Academy.
Would you build one? I think so, really not a bad Cap long term.
Can open my save and have a looky, no spoilers there.
