Preppers Were Right?

Being prepared isn't crazy, it's smart. You should always have a first aid kit at home, certain perishables, water purification tablets, etc.

Being crazy about having way too much stuff, for every possible emergency, is crazy.

I vaguely remember some sort of story about the grasshopper and the ant. But I can't remember what it was about. These weird parables we were told as kids never really stuck with me, except I do remember that foxes aren't always the smartest animal around

Anyway, my point was only that it's actually smart to prepare, in advance, by having certain items around.. It's not smart to over-prepare and go crazy when you see on the news that some guy in China frenchkissed a bat

My point of course is that it's not that people aren't able to prepare for disasters, it's that they choose not to. Ever heard the story of the grasshopper and the ant? Most people are the grasshopper.

Yes the Ants, that live in a Hive like structure with a Queen, workers and soldiers organised in a socialist society
Be like the Ants

Not what I'm saying at all. I'm referring to a parable a lot of kids here are told about the grasshopper and the ant. I won't relay the whole story here, but basically it's about an ant that spends all summer collecting and storing food for the winter while his friend the grasshopper just kicks back, mocks the ant for always working so hard, and enjoys himself believing he always has time to prepare later. Well winter comes and the grasshopper has no food because he didn't prepare. The ant takes pity on him though and shares his food and home with the grasshopper for the remainder of the winter.

The moral of the story being to not be caught unprepared like the grasshopper, because there may not always be someone like the ant to bail you out.

But grasshoppers eat and build fat so they can hibinate through the winter ?
Anyways the Ants working together with the division of labour, communist sharing of food, property and ownership. A good demonstration of the superiority of socialism.

Difference between ants and socialism is the ants can produce what they need.

Watched two prepper videos today. Nothing to insane but it starts recommending similar videos.

They're getting a lot of views. Most of their useful advice would have been better two weeks ago but there's older videos saying the same thing.

I'm always prepared. I have the first plump neighbor already picked out.

I've been referred to more as a hoarder than a prepper. But now I've got stuff that people want, and have a hard time getting.

I had that thought. Someone knows who they are and where they live.

I'm optimistic it won't get to that point.
On the other hand, these people assume it may get to that point.
If they are preparing for the worst, they miss an essential part of it, which is keeping their mouth shut.

I heard of a story of a porch thief stealing someone's grocery delivery.

Yeah that's gonna happen. I'm shifting all the tools out of the laundry area and into the basement. Also put the washing powder inside.
