Present to Communists

I have a better present.

Emperor, that link was probably pointless. A more fulfilling project would be for a Communist to play a Civ game, institute a Communist state, and make it work. I've done that myself in a couple of Civ games.

But then, in various Civ-style games, I've started unprovoked wars, indulged in slavery, assassinated various world leaders, used nuclear weapons extensively, and in those games where space travel is involved, destroyed entire worlds and slaughtered billions upon billions of innocent people.

So, instituting Communism inside a Civ game doesn't mean all that much..... :D

Communism in Civ 3 is by far the best government. In Civ 1 and 2 it's good. I haven't played Civ 4.

I think that, as I'm 14, I can be given a little bit of leniance. Maybe not much, but a little bit.
The rest, I can't and won't excuse myself for. I'm over enthusiastic about my idealogy and proud of it.
You're 14? That explains it.

There are no set governments in Civ4, just different areas, like Labor, Religion, and so forth. The State Property Civic is clearly communist, and is probably the best civic in the whole game. (Eliminates half of your maintenance costs, makes your watermills and workshops produce +1 food, and in BTS +10 production in every city)

State Property makes your empire into a über-utopia kibbutz.

Why would I want this present? I already renounced Communism and fighting it.

Look at me! Look at me! Look at me!

Emperor2 I challenge you to go and read Naomi Klein: The Shock Doctrine. That ought to balance out things for you. :p

I'd like some one to make a pitch to me what actually can be considered good things about communism.

Depends on what you refer by "communism". Do you mean the ultra-right-wing stalinist totalitarianism or the socialist theory?

Well, it does equalize the Lorenz curve a bit. Although it's like having equal pieces from a diminishing pie.

That's all I can think of right now.

I've played Civ 3 with every possible government, and won the game 20 different ways.

By the time you're big enough for a Commie government to really be a benefit, you're already way ahead of everybody else, and the game is already over regardless of which government you have. I've won on Huge maps as a Republic. By conquest. In fact, that's how I've won most of my games.
