Press build preview

The Shawnee stream featured the advanced start exposition.
But they didn‘t show which options there are, right?
Right, I think we just went into the gameplay. They didn’t show much of the UI or game setup in the dev streams (probably to keep things hidden for later reveals).
In the Shawnee dev stream they did spend a good amount of time in the advance start setup, and did show the 13 legacy options available.

Potato Mcwhiskey makes all the other reviewers look like amateurs
Oh I don’t know about that. I didn’t really enjoy his video and am a fan of his generally.

He spent an hour and a half going over Antiquity, which is fine, but to me the most interesting bits are the Age transitions. It’s strange he focused only on Antiquity because this was his first opportunity to play with Exploration.

I thought they were asking more about game and map settings. I thought the advance start was just to skirt around showing an age transition.

I find both Potato McWhiskey and Quill18 grating and annoying. I liked Marbozir's video alot, as well as a couple of others VanB...somebody and one other (I dunno, they kinda blend together and I was more interested in seeing what was shown rather than listening to whatever they had to say).

Marbozirs video wastes huge amounts of time explaining things already easily known. Impossible to like if civ 7 basics are known to watcher already.

Since I'm hungry to consume any and all info I can find about civ7, I have been watching every video I can find. It's funny to see the "big names" who know the game well and respect the NDA and time limit but rush through everything and speak so fast because they "want to show as much as possible" vs the people who have no idea what they are doing, have shown all civs and leaders and just randomly click whatever sounds good and most of what they say is wrong but you get to really see everything because they play slower and click on everything.

I wish there was more than just potato playing on deity — seeing more footage of how the AI operates at that level in the new build is what I’m most interested in.

Most of them just repeated what we already knew from firaxis live streams.

It's time to pick Quintillus and Gordian I as the next Roman leaders...
Or do the various 13th century Roman leaders of nicea, Epirus and Trebizond.

Idk, I feel like people on here tend to have a truly stultifying and odd view of a permanently unitary ethnostate. Like there’s no world where the Egyptian people permanently divide into lower and upper Egypt, or the various Roman splits remain splits as no leader is able to achieve a decisive outcome. Nope, it’s just the eternal undivided Egyptian people because idk “realism” 🤷‍♀️

I do think Potato's was the best one if you're already familiars with Civ VII's mechanics, even though I enjoyed quill's video too (and will probably enjoy Marbz's later).
I agree. I also think it did a good job of showing all the stuff that will be fun to think about when playing and the complexity of the military management

In a Brazilian video, it's shown that Majapahit only unlocks Meiji Japan in the Modern Age. There is no mention of Siam.

It seems a few of the modern age civs are unlocked based on the antiquity age civ, rather than the exploration age civ, I. This example, we know that Majapahits precursor Siam does unlock Siam.

What has been the favorite preview video you have watched so far? There are quite a lot and I don't have time to watch them all :)

If you speak German, Steinwallen.
If not, Marbozir.

Depends on do you need basics explained or just play he game with assumption that you already know civ vii.

Anyways I liked most quill18.

in ref: Marbozir... I've read everything there is to read since announcement day, and I still immensely enjoyed his video. I like that he's not rushing his talk and takes time to explain details. Very informative !

Quills 6 part videos was nice, even if I find his voice a tad annoying. But it's all pretty straightforward, not much to be learnt here...

Boesthius's video was interesting; a little higher difficulty than most others (Immortal IIRC) but I don't get the feeling that he's an S player...

Potato's deity run was enlightening if you're already very familiar with all the novelties of the game, if somewhat a little rushed. It's nice to see how the game feels at higher difficulties

Siam unlocks Siam, Sianception!!!

I know it was a mistake but couldn't help but make this dump joke, sorry-

they discuss Civ 7 in the Easy Allies podcast, with new footage (notably of Ben Franklin’s loss animation). Isla was effusive about it, confirms she lost sleep to it, as one would hope. Mentions that of the modern age victory conditions, one seemed much easier than the others (but naturally was unable to get into specifics about that).

I didn't know that. I was finding it really weird because it seemed like only Chola would unlock Siam in the Modern Age.
